ORV steering - an easy fix?

Recommended Posts

As the title says, I've been wrestling this leftover Brat for way too long now, and I am about to give it up.

What I need is something simple, that keeps the puny steering linkage from popping off, and to move the servo to the center. I don't feel up to drilling the original (tiny) knuckles out, so opted for plastic fantastic.

I started out researching and trying out a bunch of knuckles from the buggy stash at home, and landed on using the 50395 Front upright set. It's not ideal, but I try to make do with what I got. I drilled them out to make room for 5 mm ball connectors and m3 threaded rod, found some stuff to use for the upright part (screw and bolt to fit the hole, sort of). But since getting on down that road, it just stalled. Too many projects, too many ideas and too little time.

Should I just continue on, or is there is some genius ghetto mod?

This may help. Or not.

Braces that move the servo to the centre are available on eBay, add M3 rrod, etc

Not sure it will help the knuckle end of the rod though...more research required...
