Has anyone in the UK actually got one of these ReRe’s yet?

Negative Ghostrider.

And Antics have been radio silent too, which is a touch poor form.

Just ordered one from A Main £170.29 inc vat. Hmmm

Won't the customs fees on arrival in the UK take it beyond the price of a locally-sourced one?

I did just post about the VAT fees but, having looked at Amain, they appear to add 'tax' at checkout. They don't specify what that tax is but it does look around 20%, so it could well be UK VAT.

The value is right on the limit of £135, where vendors can charge VAT at source (as long as they are registered for UK tax). I'd be interested to know if it arrives without any additional charges.

If the vat has been added at the sellers side then @Kpowell911 should be vat free on entry to the UK....... should be.....🤔

There should not be any handling fees either

Fingers crossed for our fellow Tamiyacluber 🤞🏻

VAT was paid at checkout, there maybe more fee’s but I dont mind paying a bit over retail if it guarantees one, which the UK cant seem to do for someone this late to the party

My detailed invoice says ‘GB VAT 20% - $35.10’

That's very handy to know! They sometimes have other kits that are tricky to get here.

In the past I never got a parcel from the states that didn’t get picked up by customs. So then you get handling fees and all that crap. I don’t buy anything from there anymore it’s not worth it.

We’re still waiting for shipment to Australia too, just hope that enough come here so everyone can get one who wants one. I can see this one leading to a C11 joining my stable, and then any others that follow. 🤞🏻for a Renown Livery 787B.

Well I hope some others post their finished builds soon, before I finish another one . . .

Still not released from the distributor to my LHS, they ship them out state by state, which is annoying as the distributor is about 20 mins away from my LHS

I'll be interested to see just how limited this is.

I understand that the Mercedes C11 was limited, but they are still quite easily obtainable. This Porsche seems to have been quite popular, so I would be surprised if Tamiya don't produce several batches at least. I wonder if the price will drop once the initial demand has been met?

I wouldn't wait for the big discount here - they're really not that expensive, the price level is in the DT-03 range.

I agree in principle; however, the pre-order price for the Porsche 956 at Tamico is currently 142 Eur (plus VAT). In comparison, the Mercedes C11 at Tamico is 117 Eur (plus VAT).

That's clearly not enough difference if you want to ensure you get one, but it's not insignificant if you're on the fence. I might try to get one for my collection at the launch price and if the price subsequently drops then I might get another one to build.

Only time will tell what Tamiya's long term plans for this are. Hopefully not long to wait now until they are widely available.

Anybody who ordered from Tamico has received it already?

No, still waiting.

But two repro cockpit sets should arrive tomorrow from Florida. And maybe even the upgrade parts from needabiggershed are ready before Tamico ships the kits.

Oh well, there is this big box containing the parts for a blue Toyota waiting on my workbench....

Tamico has just announced that they have received the first batch with more to come in about 3 weeks.

Are they shipping those to Europe?

Yes, the two cockpits arrived this afternoon in Europe.

Dino from Radical Retro R/C was really quick packing them and also easy to contact via email, highly recommended.
