TBLE-02 not working

Recommended Posts

Hey,
I just installed a TBLE-02 ESC in my Tamiya truck with a Torque Tuned motor, and I can’t get it to work. I’m not sure if it’s defective.

When I connect the ESC, there’s no sound. The green LED turns on and flashes for a moment. Then, when I accelerate, the green LED lights up as I pull the throttle, and when I reach full throttle, the LED turns off. The same thing happens when I brake. So, the LED pattern seems to be working fine.

It’s in brushed mode, and I’ve done the calibration. I’ve tried everything, but I still can’t get it to work. Can anyone tell me if I’m doing something wrong, or is it actually defective?

What's not working - the motor isn't spinning? Is it a new ESC and motor? Is your battery good and fully charged? Is the steering working?

Check your wires. There are 3 coming out of the TBLE but only 2 going into the motor. One is not used (can't remember which one at the moment).

Sorry, I left out some information.

The motor isn’t working; the ESC is new, and the motor is used. The steering works fine, and the battery (2S LiPo) is fully charged and in perfect condition. When I connect a Hobbywing ESC, everything works fine.

The cables are connected like this: yellow ESC wire to yellow motor wire, and blue ESC wire to green motor wire.

That all sounds OK.

If there's no sound when you turn the ESC on, I think that indicates that the motor isn't connected.  Have you pushed the connectors fully into each other, and are the motor wires still nice and solid at the ESC end i.e. they haven't been damaged?

I’ve had one of these fail on me. It worked on brushed with a silvercan. Fitted a brushless and couldn’t get it to work. Tried going back to brushed and also wouldn’t work any longer. Lights look right on the ESC, although sometimes I’d get a flashing sequence not matching anything in the instructions.

Spent ages trying to get it to work and sadly ended up cutting off the plug to reuse and threw the ESC in the bin.

I’ve had two go in the bin, BEC failed on one and disco lights on the other like @Losi XXT-CR. I’d use the excuse to put a 1060 in.

Try to reverse throttle on radio. I cannot explain this because I do not remember details, but I was in the same situation and it helped.

I’ve tried again, but I still can’t get it to work. I checked the connections to the motor, and they seem fine, but it still doesn’t make any sound when I turn it on. I tested it with a TBLE 04 that someone lent me, and after calibrating it, it worked right away. I think I’ll reach out to the store and ask for a replacement. I’m pretty sure it’s defective.
