Jay helsey edition RC10

I think we're in the same boat here. We have the money to buy one, but don't have the connection to these limited editions and just want run to run rather than pay a premiun for a limited edition. We also want spares. My first Ae car is the B6D, I wasn't aware of the worlds back in the 80s, for me the Top Force was amazing, but now I appreciate the history and would like to run in vintage races

Yeah I gotta tap out on this one. I wanted and purchased the RC10 40th and the RC10T because I slobbered over them in mags as a kid. I have no connection to the clear or this one really, and no desire to find out if I'll be alive one day to sell it NIB for profit.

Hahaha I feel you. I stumbled onto the RC10 craze during the  plandemic when I picked up a team car that was near perfect for 100 us. If it wasn't for that I'd feel the same way

Stickers? That’s cheating. Including the Reedy motor stickers is a great idea though.

I asked this question in the 40th thread and really didn't get an answer.  Alot of talk and concern in regards to if there will be spares. Why? AE has stated that they will support with spares, and although not as nice looking as Tamiya parts (in my opinion) AEs Nylon parts are very strong.  Ive got a team car I drive at my track while the Durga and TRF511 batteries charge.  I can't get through a pack with out hitting something.  The Team car's 35 year old parts have held up just fine. Nothing has broke yet.  I've driven the 40th a few times, same out come, some marks on the body, no broken parts. Sure ease in replacement transmission parts would be nice, but the likely hood of needing some immediately are slim, you can find them online. I just checked AEs sites and there are spares, arms, trans cases, wing and nose tubes so far.   So again why the big concern with spares? What am I missing?

They actually have a lot of parts for the RC10 classic and T on the site. Arms, hubs, screw sets, and the stealth! I couldn't find the idler gears all the 6 gear guys need though.  Well done AE, well done!

I concur.  I believe FanRC is here to stay and with AE ramping up parts production, spares are available again.

I have a vintage 6-gear and an old Worlds car that I run very hard on my backyard track and the only parts I've ever broken are front arm block, steering block and caster block and those failures weren't actually track related.  There are trees and other obstacle in my back yard that sometimes jump in front of my car.  ;)

Just putting it out there! Decal sheet like Kyosho did with the optima pro 🤷‍♂️ because it’s only a basic three colour stripe with blue background!

Like I said decal sheet🤷‍♂️

I can’t be seen with this kit, people will think in color blind, seeing that the front rear wheels are a color mismatch,

Poking fun aside, I see that RC10 fans are excited, so I am happy to see that.

I have an og runner, CC and 40th. Have no need for this one.

Dammit....*I have a sealed 40th I might sell or trade for this.

I have my original, never ran 84 Edinger and another 40th I'm building. 8d rather have the Halsey edition for display rather than another 40th.stock gold pan.

I'm still not back to work yet after my accident...so...buying this outright is not an option

That's the car I used to stare at endlessly in rccar action magazine when I was 12...

Well, if you're after a nice Jay Halsey replica car for display, you could easily achieve that with one of your 40th cars.  It's essentially decals (or paint), a different wing and front wheels -- all of which will likely be available from AE at some point.

I've built my 40th but I haven't painted the body or wing yet.  I'm thinking seriously about finishing it like a JH replica since I already have original RC10 boxart cars on the shelf.  Going this route would save some money.

It looks easy to replicate for sure... the bumper, stickers, wing, front wheels and the black shock tower, looks like all that is different.

I already have two 40th and an a Edinger, so... 8 don't need all three for display. I'd rather keep my original Edinger on display, run one of my 40th and have the Halsey edition on display.

It would be easier to just get the Halsey edition and not have to source out all the required components to make a 40th into it.

Plus I definitely feel the Halsey edition will be more collectable.

Either way * just want the **** thing! Lol

Personally, i would rate the 40th Anni being more collectible than the Halsey, due to the numbered chassis plates and kit boxes. So ,if i were you, i would definately get a halsey before sacrifice of a 40th anni kit.
Just my 2 cent, of course:rolleyes:

You're probably right about collectability scooby but remember that everything added to make a JH tribute is completely reversible - there's really no sacrifice.

Jay won the very first IFMAR off-road championship with an RC10 so for me, finishing an anniversary car as a JH tribute makes it more desirable so that's the direction I'm going with mine.  The only way to top that is if I could persuade Jay to autograph it for me. :)

Really hard not to just pre order this car, even though I vowed to cease all purchases of more rc cars.

They are pumping out really great re-release right now a bit too fast. I mean, the Halsey RC10, Worlds ultimata, hornet Evo, super astute, Avante 2011, graphite RC10, YZ10, and more.

Geez, I want them all, but my finances say one and only one.

I'm kinda twisted between the Super Astute(not a bad price and it looks hella cool AF. And the Jay Halsey RC10, but I have two 40ths already.

The world's Ultimate is cool as well, because it's a new car really....there was never a world's Ultimate, just a new concept to match the world's optima. I feel it will make that car more of a collector piece.

I'm really thinking of getting both the Worlds Ultima and Super Astute.

I have three gold pan RC10, so I'm good on that front.

Or I may bite my cheek and continue with none at all.

****, these cars are so cool that it really hard to let them go.

Look at that super astute ..I mean just look at that thing...frp chassis, slipper, all kinds of goodies on it.

I think I'll get the super astute ...it's not a bad price, way under 300 and I can afford that right now

Sorry... just being a big kid crying over toys I want, while I probably should send money to everyone devastated by the recent hurricanes.

Donating a kit to someone that lost all of theirs in the storm, is an idea too.  Probably receiving a brand new super astute to someone that lost there collection, might make their day.

I really like the look of the Jay RC10. I think it's the body colours that I like the most. However, I no longer suffer with FOMO so I'm happy to pass.

I decided I will get one of the three I'd like...between the Halsey RC10, kyosho worlds Ultima and Super Astute.

I'm pretty sure I will choose the super astute. It's the cheapest of the three, it looks real good, has a plate frp chassis and a bunch of goodies ..seems like a great deal.

The Halsey edition would be a keep in box kit...I feel it will be worth a bit in the future....as well as the worlds Ultima which I feel is unique.

The super astute has build and run written all over it, sooo . I'm trying to get away from the shelf box thing.

So yah 8mma get the super astute and quinch my thirst and fail miserably at not buying another RC car for a year

Oh well
