XV-01 & XV-01T Shocks -

Any recommendations?

My XV-01 chassis came without shocks - looks like the kit comes with a set of Super Minis 54753 is the correct set? Around £24 for a full set of 4. 

The XV-01 T the shocks need rebuilding and new piston rods - looks like they kit comes with Mini Shocks II - 50519. 
I know I can buy the rods and bladders as spare parts 👍

Can anyone confirm if I’ve got this right or wrong and whilst I’m happy with CVA’s I’m more than happy to consider alternatives 👍

My XV01T came with 53619 (52mm). An official upgrade are the aluminum 42102 (54mm). I am running 55mm ones from Yeah Racing and I find they work very well on my XV01T.

@toyolien am I remembering correctly that you made your daughters TT02D CVA’s up to 55mm?

I’m sure the kit shocks are the  54753 Super Mini Shock set.

If I’m right do you have the part number for the piston rods?

and set them to 55mm length. I went round in circles looking for longer damper shafts and gave in and just bought the longer dampers.

Looking at the Tamiya website it quotes shock 50519 for both models for a longer stroke - in conjunction with the carbon long dampers stays - 54581 & 54582.

Probably a good route to go for me, I can buy new piston rods and bladders and upgrade the damper stays with Yeah Racing products as I go along. 
 

It keeps the cost down, uses more of what I have and it looks like the parts are interchangeable between both chassis’s.
 

We’ll see, there’s quite a few unfinished projects before I pick these 2 back up 😂

I pulled the trigger on the Yeah Racing carbon long dampers stays and new piston rods for the CVA’s.

My brain is moving towards keeping the XV-01 and I’ll work backwards from there with the XV-01T project. 
 

The XV-01 should be a mini project for me as and when I get to it, as I have all that I need for it in stock now..famous last words 😂
