Is this light or excess of CA glue above screw on left side?

Nice to see this build. This is one of the kits I am considering - are all these hop-ups worthwhile / necessary?

Definitely not glue my friend it's the light.

I never glue the carbon as I like to see the bare edge

Er.... probably not but they do look good and I'm sure some of them will be a useful upgrade.

The chassis being the 'hard' version is very stiff

I cheated here and used a set of dampers that I'd already built. Wrong spec top caps but I'm not bothered

Looks great so far. Are those dampers shorter than the kit XV-02RS dampers? They look a little shorter in the pic.

I thought they were the same length 🤔 but looking again you maybe right. The shafts are the 53850 titanium, could be shorter!

I think the whole damper is much shorter. I think you used "standard" Touring Car shocks, which are also used in XV-01. XV-02 uses longer shocks I believe.

The xv02rs uses #42102 dampers but with slightly longer damper shafts. From memory I think the rears should be 66mm eye to eye and the from 64.5mm. Or something like that.

Correct

42102 on the left and the kit supplied on the right

The manual shows a O ring on the front dampers to limit the travel of the shaft which would make it approximately the same length as the titanium shafts(maybe🤔)I used in the pre built 42102's , the rears don't have the O ring.

If the chassis doesn't sit right I'll swap them but I'm sure it'll be ok

Last job for tonight, my eyes are sore 😵💫

One of my favourite tyres, really like the squareness of them, and they look great

Not finished the body yet.

Doubt I'll ever use it

Painful slow progress on the body, which is the least enjoyable but satisfying part.

The track needs widening a few millimetres. The back has some 4mm thick spacers to give me an idea by how much.

What will you do with it? It's such a great chassis to drive.
