I know @Verskis has a carbon chassis from Embie Racing.

If it's only about using shorty batteries you can add self adhesuve foam on strategic places in the battery compartment like I have. Then the battery is under light tension and stays in place and you have the opportunity to move it back and forth for different weight distribution.

I have added foam on the battery door as well. I have a second battery door without foam if I want to run a full size square pack. My shorties are Gens Ace Redline,  so they are lower than for example the ones from Sunpadow.

ah cool, in all honesty i really like the look of the carbon conversion but just wondered which ones the best to go for. main thing is to use a shorty and would like to retain the drive belt cover.

Then we're two :D.  I like the looks of the Embie chassis. I like it so much,  so I got myself a well used 3rd XV-01 chassis to have as a basis for a dedicated Endurance Postal Racing car with such a chassis.

Yes, I have the Embie All-in-one XV-01 chassis kit. I've done both mid motor and rear motor RWD versions out of it so far.

It is a nice quality chassis, but the RWD cars are so hard to drive on gravel that the car has not seen too much use yet... I either need to learn to drive and setup it properly, or change it to 4WD or FWD at some point.

I have a couple of RWD Traxxas Slashes which are great fun on gravel, and I was hoping to get the same feeling with the RWD XV-01, but there seems to be quite much difference on the driving characteristics between these cars.

The Embie chassis also makes it easy to do a dual motor XV01 as well, can do front/rear or front/mid setup, no need for a belt cover if there’s no belt
