News update from Tamiyaclub.com

Hello All,

we just broke 5000 photos online !!! ...

and while we are talking facts and figures the site is now drawing around 2500 visitors a day and the forums already has over 2200 posts in it just in a few weeks

Many thanks for all you contributions, additions to your showrooms, and posts in the forums. Its great to see so much help and advice be passed around. Also its nice that so many members are now dealing with other members or at least using ebay with a bit more confidence that they now 'know' a lot more about some of the buyers and sellers. This is what the club is all about.

Thanks also for all the offers of ideas on how to improve the site. We take these all on board and although we might seem a bit slow to react sometimes, its just that running the site is quite a big job and there are only so many hours in the day. All I can say is now the repro Sand Scorcher decals are done and available, more new features coming soon...

BTW, hope you like the new screensaver, that is available from the download section. The Moko Chan one, has apparently timeout now - sorry for this, just an over sight. There is now a none timeout version available on line.

Other bits.....

As the site is getting bigger it is even more important that we all abide by the rules, to keep things running smoothly, so just want to run through a few key points again:

- Golden Rule: Each of your models must only be in your so room once.

- If you have sold or traded an item and you no longer have it - it shouldn't be in your showroom.

- Only RC Items should be classed as an RC items, egpictures of real cars, no matter how great they are should not be classed as models - put them under misc.

- CLASSIFICATIONS, this is not the final ruling on this but here the definitions as they stand at the moment

- NIB, New In Box, means exactly that, as it came off the shop shelf. If its built or partially built it not NIB

- New Built. Built from all new parts, either from once kit or lots of new parts. Once you have run a car more than a few times 'to test it' It can no longer be New Built

- Runner. This is any car which you use, more than just for testing, whether that is several times a day or only every other Sunday, its still classed as a runner by the Club.

- Restored. A shelf queen bought back to great condition, using a combination of new and used parts.

- Project. Wrecks, self builds, tinkering, restos in the making etc etc etc

- Recent Finds. This may go shortly.

Everyones car should fall into one of these categories. If you feel they are too restrictive then use your description to put the record straight.

One last thing, you have to have over 25% of a model before you can classify it under a model number. Below this percentage and it really should just be under 'Parts'. So bodysets, decals etc etc on thier own must all be classed as 'Parts' not actual cars.

Apologies to late comers that have not had as long to learn these guidelines as longer standing members, but from now if the administrators see items which don't follow these simple rules then those items will be deleted. We simply do not have the time to sen dout reminders any more. Sorry if this seems a bit harsh.

and finally.....

Thanks for your continued support.
