not expecting a big turnout then Chris? I am surprised about that. As long as the weather is not wet then it should be great. I know someone has probably already asked this but what is the ground like? Tarmac, gravel, grass, compacted dirt, loose dirt etc. It would be really nasty if it rained the same day or night before. Think of the mess you would end up with! I think popularity will depend on the weather, you will only really know numbers a day or so before. Lets hope for a fine one [8D]

is anyone worried about getting their car dirty?

im not, im all for getting it mudded up!

radio box is ok, so let the wet weather come!

might have a modified motor in the scorcher, so watch out for donuts and wheelspins!

i expect the surface to be a mixture, loose dirt and grass, maybe some tarmac in the car park?

as it seems likely that there is going to be a big coming together of TXT-1's [:P] perhaps it would be a good idea if you was to have some kind of small flag on the end of the antenna pipe with your user name on or something like that. it only has to be a small sticky lable wraped round the top with your name scrawled on in pen? Im also going to be writing the names of my cars on the back of the Radio transmitter I will be using with them.

I dont have transmitters for all my cars unfortunatly [:(] will anyone there be selling spare ones?

Same situation for some of us. But the question is not “Why can’t I take part?â€. The question should be “What must be done to take part?â€

Me and my friends travelled a lot to compete in motorcycle races in Germany and our neighbour countries. A few of us found the way to Africa and Saudi Arabia for Rallye competitions. So this is a question of organisation.

I’ve been in the UK only a couple of times by plane. So my questions is: What are the costs in money and time to pass the channel by car.

It's probably easier for you... [:)]

I have parents to convince... [;)] [v]

They will never let me anyway, I am not even going to ask them [:(] They will never cross the river for something like that. If we would have been on holiday and in accidentally was nearby, then it was a 'maybe'... [B)] Maybe next summer or something, I might work it out if we visit England. But England is expensive and my parents have to pay for everything... [;)] [:o] I'll tell them it's been a long time since we went there... [:D] LOL

just bring along a 20 or so spray cans and repaint everybodies car bodies with big splats of coloured paint. Should make for some original looking cars. Nobody minds having their nice scorcher modified do they! [:D]

Madness! only just seen this thread.. and there i was wondering what Joe (volksrod) was talking about, some meeting, in his email...

I guesss i just dont go in this area of the forum enough!..

I should be able to make it, im in huddersfield so its a bit of a sprint down the ole m62 for me..

I know its tamiya club, but i dont think i have much tamiya in a "runner" style!... I can bring my ready-to-go but not driven rough rider..

But ill bring my Yz834b and Yz870c Yokomo buggys, my C.A.T Xls's, my self-built sand rail, and probably the trusty old losi xxx... maybe some others too... i just cant think right now cos its too late...

Paint splats on a Scorcher, eh?

That's how they invented the Blitzer Beetle! [:D]

As for video, I hear Michael (flyby) wil be taking his camera. He told me it's not a digital one though, but he might be able get me a copy of it... [:)]

OK Guys this is getting close.

Obviously the weather is not looking great and this is definately an outdoor event. I don't live a million miles away so I can go no problems but I would hate to think any of you have travels 100's of miles to a complete wash out.

What if we review the forecast and post comments here, with the final verdict and meeting place being detailed here no later than 5pm Saturday the 23rd. Anyone that can't make it on the web to check by that time is welcome to email me you phone numbers and I'll call you saturday evening to let you know what is happening.

Cheers

What? Weather? We are coming from Scotland! I can't remember a R/C meet without rain so will be coming prepared. Really as long as there is somewhere firm to park on and there is no danger of getting stuck it won't be a problem. I'm sure it will be a great day. I usually drive my truck on piles of coal so mud will be a pleasant change![:D]

Im way too deep in my preperations to back out now Rain or no Rain I'm going, the weathers been unsettled all week so its too close to call, even on saturday evening there will be no guarantee of what the weather will do on the sunday, Ive been trickle charging my batteries all week with the intention of using them in anger, I know chris has a valid argument that Rain will ruin the day, but I aint about to be stopped by a few drops of water. bring yeh Brollys, wellies, Waterproofs and Towels [}:)]

One of our members has been checking out the area for us - I'll get more details on Saturday.

He is what he has wrote so far...

I did get a map of the park when i had a sniff around but i can't find it for the life of me but i will hunt it out ASAP and send bits of interest to you, as for meeting point there is several options 1 is to meet at the Clumber park hotel on the A614 but this is a little distance from the park main entrance, on the other hand there is a car park where a local greasy spoon trades that is directly across from Clumber park main entrance (but on Sunday

i don't think the spoon will be open) this would make a good meeting point i think,i may be able to bring a generator and boiler with ready cups of tea/coffie at sensible prices if i can get Katie ( my Girl/f) to lend it me

and act as tea lady LOL but got to be careful about trading maybe if we say its free if anyone at Clumber asks we may get away with it, what do you think?.

As for good spots, i found plenty of good all round spots just behind the row of trees on the right just after the entrance of the park and the cars can be parked next to the meet, There are toilets on site and also a tea room but these are a little walk away not to bad by car and seeing as though most will have them then that's not a problem. I have also been sorting out old model tyres for track markers etc so if you could ask members on the club web site

to bring old tyre's i think this would help.

P'S please mention to the members who will be coming that there is an

entrance fee to clumber park ( i think its about £3.50).

id="quote">id="quote">

So in light of any other info cropping up before Sunday - I say outside the Greasy Spoon at 10am sounds a good bet. We can hang around there for an hour or so to trade and allow people to turn up and then find a racing venue in the park - assuming the £3.50 entrance fee doesn't scare anyone off.

If anyone wants to email me mobile numbers I will hold them and start calling them if you haven't turned up by 11am

More info here later

Thats a shame Daz,

I've just started clearing my stuff out to bring and there is a truck load. Electrical stuff as well as parts n tires n bodies.

If anyone is coming that has a set of tyres for the Bigwig (esp rears), then bring them along I'm sure we will be able to work out some sort of deal.

I also need a pumpkin windscreen and roll bar, and Wrangler Jeep front body mount.

Cheers
