Great job. Did you use the included decals or did you paint? I succumbed to the urge and got one ordered from Stormer Hobbies a little bit ago. I had assumed the stock at Amain would hold up for a few days; I was wrong. Glad I manged to snag one - though I had to offload my RC10T to make room (and appease the wife).

I used the decals from the kit, fairly tricky to get them laid down flat and lined up with the others. Test fit before hand so you can see how they lay out, then peel back sections of backer a bit at a time. The sides weren't too bad, more of a challenge to get the front centered and lined up with both sides. Looking back now I think I would have just masked and painted lol.

Yeah - looks like a blow dryer and some patience is required with this one. I'll have to grab a spare body and give painting it a try as it's basic enough that even I might be able to pull it off (famous last words).

Great car! I just woder why they didnt call it the CE.

maybe they figured people would be more excited if they named it for the premium model?

this car is the TC, sans the black pan. The only parts that the CE had that are the same were the wider front arms.

Just saw a post on YouTube where someone says they bought several of the team car gold pans, to race and for parts.

That's annoying.

If you need all those kits to break up for racing parts, start racing newer stuff so you don't have to kill collector kits and show pieces and people like me that have to wait another month, can get just one.

if he plans to race against B7s he’s spending a lot of time and resources preparing to lose.

I imagine vintage races.

Unlike the 40th kit, I don't believe this one is a limited edition.  Also, more units sold means more re-releases to come (hopefully).  So, there's an incentive to buy multiples - especially if you're a fan.  :)

Still trying to figure out why this car doesn't have a black chassis. I'm pretty sure when they went team car from the champion edition, it has the black chassis.

Has this been disgust?

For this reason, I am not interested. Doesn't make sense. Silly? Maybe. But I would want it with a black chassis.

That is a mystery -- especially since they've already offered the RC10T and DS in black anno.  They just need to black anno the buggy's front plate to complete the set.

Anyway, I picked up a black chassis pan and motor plate NIB a few years back but I don't have a new black front plate so I'll probably just go with the kit's gold parts.

Maybe AE will re-re a black edition Team Car some day.

That's my hope too. But if they don't, it's very cool AE is still around re-making these little cars.

Plus, this year between the 40th kit, RC10T, Green RC10 (and the fingers crossed upcoming RC10 Graphite), they've gotten enough of my $ anyway!

Again, AE doesn't seem overly concerned with accuracy aside from their 40th and Halsey edition efforts, but my guess is the gold tub "team car" is mimicking Cliff Lett's ride somewhat. It gets confusing with the Champ edition paint scheme but then again AE just re-colored the original Champ edition box photo to make it a Team Car back in the day.

I think we all get that, that this new release seems to be a Championship Edition / Team Car combination.

Might be a miniscule detail to some, but the black chassis was a highlight from the original Team Car release. Pictures of my original Team Car manual dated 1990:

I totally agree personally. Its a feature that was included on the Team Car stickers plastered on the box BITD too.

Hoping AE eventually uploads the new manual to their website, could use the part numbers for the tires on the new car for my old Team Car.
Part #'s from the old manual are discontinued.

I watched a video about the new team car and coming from associated themselves, the gold chassis on the new team car is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of associated.  I thought that already been done. Will we see a black chassis version in the new year? Lol... Hard to declare de if I should pull the trigger now or wait for the black version. I wish they just made it black already. But man it's an awesome car.

This just happened....for sale near me, brand new built, not painted losi JRX2 with box.

The missing link of my collection and the final piece. I just need to cross reference and compare pictures and see if anything is missing or not right. Then I'll take the plunge.

All my big talk, and I just bought one!
Found out the kit comes with two sets of decals (box art & the body from the cover of the manual) & I was sold.

Such a pushover!
(and still hoping for a black frame re-release too)

Wonder what the plan is for offering spare and replacement parts. Seems decent with other re-releases so far?

Sometimes Tower Hobbies surprises you, 25.5 hours after ordering with free shipping and it's here.

Didn't realize the picture on the re-release box was new.
