I guess Black Friday is more of a US thing, and there are still a few days to go yet, but I haven't seen much to get excited about on this side of the pond.

It's a difficult dilemma for the model shops though as they're not in the most lucrative business and times are hard, but some of them are clutching at straws with their deals in my opinion. In my mind, Black Friday is more about one or two blow-out items at never-to-be-missed prices rather than just a couple of percent off everything in stock sale.

I think some of those prices from Tamiya USA would meet my criteria. Fingers crossed we can get some bargains over here too.

So frustrating.. I live in Canada and have a US shipping address but Tamiya won't let me pay because my billing address doesn't match.. And they block Paypal from non-US accounts. Crazy

I'm so tempted to buy a CC02, but I must hold back.

Yea I am tempted myself. I keep reminding myself that this is the shorter wheel base model and there aren't a lot of bodies for it.

I mean, the wheelbase is adjustable...  :D

Yea I guess I am just now realizing that. I don't know all that much about the platform apart from it looks cool and is probably worth the $150.

I'd be all over that one too - what a price!

I can't find them in Europe anymore, sadly.

I gotta admit these deals are killing me, lol. I kinda wanted the MB trail last time they had them at $169 and $125 is sooo cheap. It was just 3 weeks ago I was considering the tracked GF01 too for snow use. I think they would both be novelties to me in the end like my old Blizzard. More importantly, I want a Super Astute so its best not to get distracted. The impending tariffs of doom that will be supposedly crashing down upon my country shortly mean I better buy all the MCI and TBG from Canada for future planned restoration projects too.

Wound up buying the Monster Beetle Trail and the tracked Land Cruiser. Each of them are cheap enough to justify their goofiness!

I’ve not, but when I’ve ordered parts from Tamiya in the past it’s taken 4 or 5 working days to change from “dispatched to warehouse” (or whatever it says) to actually shipping.

I told myself I was not getting the astute 2022, even at that price, but.....I just slammed down the cash right now. I have the TD-4, wanted the TD-2, but hesitated at the regular price.

Now I have a TD-2(if it even gets sent to me) to be a shelf partner with my TD-4.  My TDs will be shelf queen only....because I believe they are unique, amazing engineering, the white elephant that many left began and(ugly looking cars), so....I thought Id get them both because I doubt anything else will be made with that chassis.

I'm pretty sure if those cars were made with carbon fiber and aluminum(like the original avante) they would of sold out long ago lol.

And those fenders....who else does that?...nobody except Tamiya.

These cars will be the ones the haters wished they had, in 20 years, lol

That’s great news!

So I ordered up kits to keep me busy for a while.  I have a comical Hotshot coming, a TD4, and a TD2. I can’t wait to get cracking.  :D

I also spent $60usd on two slipper clutches, and $30usd on three aluminum diff nuts.  Ouch.

Are there any other must - do mods for the TD platforms?  I have a Speed Passion 5.5T motor and a Hobbywing sensored ESC slated for the TD2. Most of my Tamiya kits live very easy lives but I really want to drive this car a lot and put down some track miles too.

The TD4 may end up as more of a shelf queen…not sure yet.

I failed miserably at not getting any of these wild deals on the td2 and TD4.  I already have. TD-4, but I want to modify and customize it, have a driver, but would like to queen a stock version also.

With this deal I got another TD-4 for the shelf as I believe the TD cars will be collectable in the future due to their failed presentation as now.

So I ended up getting both the TD-2 and TD-4 today at these awesome prices. However my mom bought the TD-4 as a Christmas present. We were talking about Black Friday sales, mentioned the TD-4 and she that would be a perfect Christmas present.  Sooo...  Why not,.

Conditions were I had to send it to her house and I can't get it until Christmas day, lol ..that's ok.

All works out and she didn't have to spend a lot. I did lie a bit....I told her it is 100 dollars....I put in the rest, but she won't know about that.

I'm 50 years old.... I'm thinking I did not want her spending more than that for an RC car, but she knows how much I like the hobby.

I got 2/3 of my shipping notices too.  My low pro servos, etc are arriving as well.  I think the TD2 will be my focus for now and I’ll build the others after the scourge of tariffs ruins the RC hobby for us in the USA.
