OK here are the details.

We have got this fantastic venue booked for April 19th and 20th 2003.

Thats right its all ours for two days and one night (so get fitting your light sets now)

This has got to be one of the best RC venues in the UK (see pic below) with a fantastic tarmac track, off road track and indoor pit/trading facilities. As far as I know there is a campsite virtually in the site so we should be able to race until our batteries are well and truely drained.

The downside? Venues like this don't come cheap and its costing us £300.00 to rent it out for the two days. So for two days racing & trading there is going to be an entry fee of £7.50 in advance, or £10.00 per day on the day. - You may be able to tell from this we want as many people to buy tickets in advance as possible. Its important to the smooth running of the event that we know exact numbers ASAP.

I the unlikely event we take more than the course cost we will put the money to trophies and prizes for the race winners (Which may be delivered a week or so after the event)

Apologies if this seems high, but for your money you are getting

- entrance to the biggest Tamiyaclub event ever (we are expecting a large vintage showing/racing there).

- two days and a night of racing.

- two days of trading and meeting other members.

- access to these facilities http://www.smmcc.co.uk

- access to the new Tamiyaclub shop (about 10 times more than I took to the last meeting)

This time the races will be a little more organised, but we hope to keep the same sense of fun that was at the last meeting.

Details of races will follow in the coming months. Race places will be limited but hopefully everyone will get go. Those people registering and paying for a ticket in advance are gaurenteed racing places.

Payment details will follow shortly.

One feature I am keen to try and better this time around is there 'mass car collection' photo. So if you are coming please bring every model you can fit in your car. It would be nice to recreate some of the old Tamiya promotional photos - hiluxes pulling cars, wild willy racing etc. Which will then distribute via the site as wall paper etc.

If numbers permit, it would be nice to some of the races a little more categorizes, eg special racing buggies, SR/HB, Wild Willys, 3 speeds etc etc, although we will still have the 'catch all racers' where anything goes.

It would also be nice to have a 'parade' of vintage models around the tarmac course for those that want to run thier cars but not risk them in the racing environment.

Lots we can do - its all going to come down to the numbers of people attending.

Woo Hoo [:P][:)][:D][8D]

I don't think there is any need to apologise for the cost-there is a lot there for the money.

How do you want paying??

Time to start finishing some projects[;)]

Cheers Chris, just glad i could do something special for the club[:D],

I just hope that a few will turn up with trucks and trailers so we could have a slot for cruising them around, my m8 who's coming has one aswell, if not we will have to get light kit's and do some long distance night driving in the early hours[;)]

A formula 1 race would be awesome aswell, hope there is enough ppl with them. Both my m8's that will be coming have F201's and some other older F1's. (3 tickets[^])

And a wild willy race would be hilarious, will wheelers be accepted aswell??? [:P]

And i'm sure most of us have mini's, that would be fantastic .

Then there is all the others, hee hee. Oooh very exciting.[:)]

Not to mention finally getting to meet all you guys,[:D][8D][:D]

I will try and bring most of my shelf collection, maybe a NIB or 3 and should think atleast 15 runners ,hopefully an SS runner included[8D].

A few will be parade only [;)] Sorry guys but i did see the winter drive films [B)] LOL

Maybe we could have another post for where ppl list which cars they are taking to run just to give a rough idea of what will be there????

And a Happy New Year to all [:)][:D][:P][8D]

Is there any access to mains power, charging batteries would be so much easier.

Looking forward to this have to get as many cars as possible running, get my bike going too[:D].

What can i say, well done Flyby and netsmith[:)].

This will be the best meet yet, i would not be suprised if RRC magazine didn't turn up and take a few pic's [8D, i think its a good idea to start a forum of what models people will be taking as i don't think this forum should be clogged up with it and should be kept as a place for info on the meet.

Just let me know how and when to pay Chris (2 tickets)

Cheers and happy new year everyone[:)]

I know its not much but anyone coming to the event from anywhere other than mainland UK (and can show me the travel tickets) gets FREE entry - its the least we can do if you are prepared to make that effort.

Wireless and myself are up for it.

Just out of interest what happens if you buy the tickets early but don't want to race but just potter round...? I haven't quite figured out my left and right yet and don't want to cause a multiple pile up...!

Don't worry racings not compulsory - but there will be events at for all levels so I am sure you'll end up taking part is some race or another. In the Monster Mayhem race for example not knowing your left from your right is a distnct advantage.[;)]

BOO HOO HOO!!

I can't go to the spring drive as I will be returning from Paris that day. Maybe I will fly overhead. Oh well the only thing that can make up the dissapointment would be a good find in a Paris hobby store!

Anyone know of any?

I hope there is a summer meet! Any word?
