WR02G Tumbling Bull or Kumamon. Is it possible that they have been available for a very short period only? Anyway, I think it's a shame I missed out on buying one back then.

The Kyosho Javelin I keep missing the boat.

Had two chances to get one and failed at both. It was recently up for sale for a good two months again at all major stores but could not afford it yet again.

It's the one car that really slips through my fingers every time. IDC anymore ..I'm done collecting cars and more interested in building race buggies to actually race. I have all the childhood vintage cars I ever wanted.....well ....the elusive JRx2, is still being hunted ....

I don't know if it's the same one you've been looking for but the Kyosho Javelin is still in stock at Tamico (and probably others in Europe).

I'm sure everybody has at one point missed the boat. Tamiya are second to no other brand for re-releasing old kits in a (mostly) faithful way, but they can't re-re everything. So missing out does happen. For me it's without question the F103GT! There are a few beat up and grossly overpriced ones once in a while on Buyee, but I am not really into buying old brittle plastics anymore after a bad experience this year 😕 so I would want a nib kit anyways. I might attempt a 'NOS' bits-a-build one day, like I did for an F101 🙂

I had a Wild Dagger back in the day (built from parts, it started out as a Blackfoot Extreme), but I broke it up and sold it off when I couldn't make it behave like I wanted.

I feel the same way. Mine drives funky, as if there was a hamster in the Dagger resisting my control.  I think the rear motor runs slightly faster than the front.  The rear axle pushing while the front dragging would make driving atrocious.

Every single motor has slightly different RPM.  It's impossible to make the magnets with exactly the same magnetic force, have the wires balanced the same way, have the bushings exert exactly the same resistance, brush contacts wear out the same way, etc.  (Wild Dagger's design was sort of like the Clod Buster; 2 identical axles are mirror images of each other).  If I simply swap the motors, those motors have to run in reverse of what they are used to. The slower motor might run faster when running in reverse (if brush contact is better in reverse, etc).  Then it'd be moot.

I wanted to measure several motors' RPMs when running in the right direction and in reverse, and match motors.  I would try to have the front one running about 2-5% faster than the rear.  It would drag the rear axle when going straight, but have less oversteer when turning.  I would have to measure the RPM occasionally also. Since the shape of the brushes would change as they wear out, as the motor ages it would have different RPM.

I think that's why Tamiya's has not gone back to the dual motor setup. The new chassis is a single motor 4x4.  The Squash Van would drive in a more predictable manner than the Wild Dagger.  The wheelbase is 267mm, which is 14mm shorter than the Dagger's 281mm.  The Squash is 3cm narrower in width due to shorter arms too.  So, if one is inclined to slap on the Dagger body, it might not work.

:D

There seems to be quite bit of hamsters here and there in the Tamiya line-up ...

On a more serious note - does this sort of thing affect the two motor Clod Busters too?

Another one I missed the boat on was the CC01 Jeep Wrangler, but I at least got me a CC01 Pajero. Really it would be awesome if Tamiya came out with the Wrangler on the CC02 chassis, then I'd have a better excuse to buy it because of the layout.

It doesn't seem to (my Dagger, actually Twin Detonator, behaves much like @Juggular's). I don't know if its the larger tires that dampen the divorced twin motor effect or the Clod's bouncy nature that mask it (although my smooth riding mod-Clods aren't affected either) but I don't feel this effect in the Clod like I do a Dagger.
