i have got my savage running ok now, so anyone up for a meet one weekend?

sunday would be best.

either off road or car park with jumps.

yorkshire area, i dont wana travel 40 miles again to find the truck doesnt run properly!

anyone?

netsmith?

blondiniboy?

suppose any cars really can come.

cheers

i duno where to go really, any ideas?

any cars can come, i might take a scorcher and maybe the blazing blazer.

depends how dirty it is on the ground!

i think a massive carpark on a sunday, when it isnt too busy, like where a B&Q place is, then it doesnt matter too much if it has been raining a bit cos it wont be muddy.

just bring any cars you have that run(or maybe for show) so we can all have a dribble!

cheers

any chance of some people bring old lexan/plastic shells?

had an idea that if we bring a big piece of wood(flat sheet) and some wooden blocks, we can nail the shells to the blocks then nail the blocks to the sheet of wood.

saves chasing after shells if it is windy, and also we have a proper row of 'cars' to crush, instead of seeing how far we can make them move when we land on them!

i'll be taking 2 0r 3 shells anyway, nailed to some wood, so have u any shells you dont mind nailing?

just bought a new esc and a 13 triple motor for my ss, will be interesting seeing what it goes like.........

cheers

Joe, just name a time and a place. A car park sounds a good idea because i would like to get the mini and holiday buggy out but please can we make it not to far from Mansfield [:(. I'm glad your bringing a SS[:D] as i have been putting a race SS together but it's not quiet finished yet but it will give me an idea how it handles as i havent had it out yet. So you, me and blondiniboy can have a SS race[:)].

I think i have some old shells to bring also some old tyres.

soniq, the motor casing has had to be cut a lot to fit the motor in, it still isnt perfect cos the mesh between the spur and pinion is tight.

still spins the wheels very fast tho.

i hooked everything up and its dead!

everything is connected, but nothing works!

i'll have a go later on tonight.

hope everything is ok, the esc and motor have just cost me 62 quid![V]

prob have a rough shell on cos i dont wana damage a mint shell.

hopefully lower it tastefully and maybe a nice single colour paintjob, maybe that changing colour green/gold/red stuff you can get.

ive seen it but now i want some i cant find it!

chrome wheels all round [^]

what motor is in your racer?

found the perfect place.

Barnsley, in a B&Q car park, absolutely massive tarmac car park, with a massive undercover bit aswell, so if it rains we can still drive the nice cars we dont wana ruin ;)

is barnsley too far?

about 20 miles from mansfield.

the undercover bit will echo a lot so will sound mint with nitro's running thru it!!!!

its the top end of the car park that hasnt been used for ages cos everyone wants to park near the doors.

plenty of room to get cars upto top speed

what ya reckon?

about 3 miles from J37 M1.

cheers

I don't know about B&Q near you but all the ones down here are packed at the weekend? Do people not do DIY in Barnsley?

Do we have to worry about security?

As you can tell, I'm more of a muddy of road type of guy - what about somewhere in Sherwood Forest?

Our B+Q at Doncaster is absolutley packed on a sunday Joe, a quieter spot would be better, you'd not get the "how fast does it go mr?" brigade either.

Is Clumber to far? You must admit, it is ideal for our use.

i thought clumber was a bit too far, and you know how it was last time, freezing and windy!!!

in the trees might be ok, but not much room there.

anywhere between all of us that we can meet?

i dont mind mud, i was playing with the truck in sloppy clay stuff other day, mint!

easy wash method.......just drive thru a puddle as deep as the tires!

prefer mud and grass, to tarmac, but would like some hard ground for the scorcher..

anyone?

p'raps we call the meeting at short notice on a cold frosty day - nice hard going to start off and then gets muddier during the day.

I quite fancied a go at a bit of hill climbing through some trees somewhere, but my knowleddge of places on really goes upto clumber park/sherwood forest way I'm afraid (about 25 north of me)

Cold and Windy are two of my favourite weathers [:)], as Billy Connelly said

"There is no such thing as bad weather - just the wrong the clothes"

Posted

where is sherwood forest?

anywhere to go flat out for some speed?

i agree a hill climb would be cool, maybe a steep muddy slope.

a short notice call is cool, just wana know where it might be and if there is any undercover areas so we can stand without getting wet

ah ha, just remembered, there a place near denby dale(between barnsley and huddersfield) thats like a rough area in some fields, but we cant park there.

do'h!

anyone know of any quarries?

Chris how about that old rc course across from IKEA in Notts, on second thoughts its a bit far for Volks and Blondiniboy but it would be a good venue, i don't mind where we meet as long as its not next week as i'm staying in Matlock for the weekend and someone will draw me a map when they decide the venue.

Chris any chance that you will be bringing a SS???.

Posted

notts is way too far [V]

i reckon a wide open space so we can lay out a course, and have some proper racing!

thinking about it i will go to clumber if everyone else wants to, i suppose it isnt that far, just put me off cos last time it was freezing!

weather is a bit better now.

and ive got some gloves [^]

so when then?

week after next?

sunday morning?

remember bring some old shells and maybe a ramp and corner markers??!!!

cheers

weekend after next sounds good to me, so is clumber OK??.

i'll bring what ever i can in the way of shells/tyres etc.

PS what time Sunday morning??

See you all there[;)]

There is an old quarry in doncaster used by trials and mountain bikers which is excellent for RC cars,(as long as its not to wet) there is is some parking, but its a bit of a walk into the quarry. Not bad if you've only one RC car, as you can drive it into the quarry but be prepared to carry it out cos i'll gaurantee you'll break it!

It's only 2 minutes off the A1 at J36.

I know of a great place for a bit of off road trucking, might be a wee bitty far away for most people though - it's in Glasgow!! but it's the best place for playing with trucks. it's a huge big spoil heap where they've piled up the waste material from mining.

check out my showroom or stu.b's for some pics

Yeah, I agree.

All you guys need to come to Scotland to try our coal bing! Ever seen Icelandic monster jeep trails? Thats what it is like! If anyone is near or prepared to come to glasgow give us a shout!
