Bodies which fit The Hornet EVO Chassis

I pre ordered The Hornet EVO kit and was wondering if anyone knows if  there are any other 1/10 bodies from Tamiya that would fit the chassis without making any modifications?

Would like to have a nice collection of bodies for the Chassis if it is possible to do so.

Measure the wheelbase, if it's around 251mm you'll have plenty of old school shells to pick from. Trucks, Baja bugs, dirt oval cars, etc.

wheelbase doesn't look to far off from the original hornet, so a Sand Scorcher body will fit, but will sits a little high without some modifications to the front of the chassis. Hmm, I sense a potential future project for me!

I thought I saw in one of the other threads here a Grasshopper body on a Evo, but I think it too needs a modification, but at the back of the grasshopper body, and not as drastic as what I did.

The frog body is a but thinner at the front and middle than the Hornet, so I think its probably not going to work too well

Grasshopper 2 and all the "Dragon" bodies (Thunder Dragon, Saint Dragon, etc) should fit, since they use the same mounting points as the Hornet body.

Whatever you can make fit with creativity that has a similar wheelbase. On one of my Grasshoppers I have a Parma beetle body on it and on one of my Hornets I have a Sand Scorcher body mounted to it. 

fitting the hard Sand Scorcher body may require cutting the front of the chassis for clearance, like @yogi-bear and I did.

GH2's front body mount is further forward than the Hornet's, but it's close and I believe there's adapters available (or make your own).

The Super Storm Dragon body should drop right onto the EVO chassis, since it was recently re-released on the standard Hornet chassis.

If the EVO wheelbase is similar to the original Hornet at 267mm it should also be able to fit most touring car or rally bodies.

I was just going to mention that. Was talking with my friends about this... the Evo is the same wheelbase as the Hornet and GH2.

Tamiya just grafted a DT-02 gearbox in back. It's moved a little, but the only real issue is clearing the spur gear housing at the right upper rear.

Beetle body may even need a trim, because the Evo gearbox is higher and considerably farther back. But we're creative, right!? 😉
