Hey Newbie,

I would definately be up for a meeting in the sussex/hampshire area, but I don't know of any particularly good locations - although in the summer I should have my very own track - if I get round to digging one out in the field behind my house!

Do you know of anywhere that would be good to run cars? - there must be somewhere in woods or similar along the south downs.

I wasnt sure of locations either.

Just spoke to darryn he suggested

Shoreham Recreation grounds old BMX course

Dunno weather it would b ne good!? He said is a little overgrown in places but is flat and has jumps

I thought of stamner park in brighton

its huge But its only grass i think ( I meet for a mini club meetings there. has some tarmac ill go have a good look.

Any other places would be helpful

BMX track sounds like a good idea, I used to have one really close to me, but the council bulldozed it to build houses 8 years ago, and they still haven't built any houses! - I used to get 4ft of air off those jumps with my avante[}:)]

I Live in Shoreham and just to let you know that there is also a touring car oval track and another road track that are in the rec near the bike track, the track is easy to get two by coming down the A27 flyover at shoreham (watch your speed, seen cars loose it)and by following the roadsigns for shoreham to you reach a mini roundabout, with the two pubs "The Red Lion" and "The Amsterdam" opposite each other. Go straight past the amsterdam, until you come to the roundabout by the saab garage. turn right over the bridge, and you will see the rec on the right, but you have to go to the roundabout and loop back as there is no right turn! there is then a filter. There is two carparks. From the one at the back you can see to big lumps, which is the bmx track and just beyond that with the green trailer hut is the two tracks.

The tracks are run by the people below and so you should contact them, note that the fence is broken down, so is a tripping hazzard.

Hope this helps.

Right, the model car track at Adur rec is **** - trust me, and the other track is an oval for stock cars but the BMX track ajacent would be great for the off roaders. I have a key (shhhh, dont tell anyone !) to get ito the track once they have repaired the fencing. I too live in Shoreham so not far to travel for me [:D]

Let me know when you've got a date and I'll do my best to pop down.

Please don't make it the same date as the Clumber park one though or I could be pushed to be at both, unless I was going to do some sort of phil collins/live aid stunt (showing my age again)[;)]

Fairly off topic but I remember playing in the street with my Marui Hunter that day of Live Aid - strange the things you remember !

Ditto - jealous of the guys who could get to Clumber (just a bit too far for me to go for a day!) so it would be good if we can have a meet in the South before the winter sets in..

Kent, Essex and Sussex - let's get something going! See my showroom for Epping Forest details, easy reach from Kent, but Shoreham way isn't too bad either.
