Hi!

I'm not sure where you are in the country, I'm just outside Glasgow. I race 1:10th touring cars on a friday night in Grangemouth but must say that this is taken far to seriously by most people and not really satisfying the needs of Tamiya enthusiasts. At the moment I know 2 others in my area who are club members. One who I have known since school day (rossco) and another guy I met while trading. Myself and rossco are into off road'n with big trucks and now smaller rock crawlers with me now having a bruiser and rossco a XC pajero.

If you live anywhere near Kirkintiloch you are in for a treat. The old coal bing is the ultimate terrain for hardcore 4x4 action. Check out our action pics and you will see. I would also like to know if there is anyone else in the area. If you live near or are prepared to travel we should arrange a meet.

Hi, I am from Aberdeen, up here we have the Stonehaven International R/C Race Track, which is a permanent track that has hosted some HPi events, a few rounds of the BRCC a few years back and a few other events, its actually a 1/5 scale track but very good for 1/10 cars lots of room. Has its own drivers stand, lap timer equipement, parking facilities, etc. We also have Inverurie Indoor R/C race track. Both are around 13 miles from the centre of Aberdeen. I race in my clubs Nitro 10 pro class with my TG10, which now looks nothing like a TG10, I have been quite successful finished 2nd a few times and I am often in the top 5. I aim to win the Stonehaven Nitro 10 class this year, I hope[:D]. We have around 120 members at the Stonehaven club and a small 28 at the Inverurie club. Any questions at all then please feel free to ask.

Thanx

About 3 years now, I raced Electric touring cars for 2 year then last year was my first year with a nitro car, finished in 3rd place in the championship out of 24 nitro racers. Thats why this year I am aiming high, aiming for first place, I think my Tg10 should be able to handle the pace, if not then I am seriously thinking about starting up electric tourers again. Have u any details on the crief race track??? Also what did u think of Stonehaven??

Thanx

the Stonehaven track has the longest straight of any track I have raced at, and coming off that big banked curve already in second gear it's a long way to go !!! fast too !

I had many a great weekend up there racing both electric and nitro, winning the Scottish championship there in '95.

As for Crieff, well it's too bad really, that track was just the right size for 1/10th scale cars, but it was privately owned, and so far as I know the owner didn't want so many people in his back garden any more..... the track itself is still there.

Yeah I really don't think there is a faster track in the uk, maybe there is, who knows. One thing is for sure as u say in my nitro second gear clicks in just as I am going onto the straight and the straight is very long. If I remember correctly in 99 there was a 1/10 nitro car clocked at 68.8 MPH, which is pretty darn quick. Also the scenery is amazing, behind the track but a great view from the drivers stand is the railway bridge that seems to shadow the track perfectly, also the stream/small river that passes to the right of the drivers stand but far enough away not to sink the cars, altogether its a really good and big track, and I mean BIG.

KNAONE- Glad to see u might be joining the race scene with the electrics. The track might be a little big for the electric tourers although they do seem to have the closest racing of all the classes. Any ideas on what kind of car u will run.?? there seems to be a few Pro 3's and they really seem to dominate the track.

Thanx

Jimbo,

they do seem to run the class there, 1/10th super touring cars, looks good, after speaking to Dom i am probably looking at a AE TC3 RTR, basically as it seems the best starting option to start in the class.

I have been speaking with the people in Dundee, Dundee touring car club about joining there too, am going to try and make it to their meeting to see whats what [:)]

hopefully all going well i might get a car soon [:D]
