I am stationed at RAF Mildenhall which is South of Snetterton but North of NewMarket or Cambridge. I hope that helps. Military + radio control cars = manless airplanes keeping us out of harms way. I wish they would let me fly one. There are no walls to crash into hehe.[:P]

No walls, but the ground!!! I tried helicopters once. I'll stick to hitting walls with my cars in the future!

Well all has gone deathly silent from the clubs I emailed. Perhaps someone wants to contact Snetterton again. i have started a new job and my time is very limited now. Sadly been trying to find time to build shocks to finish my new built Stadium Blitzer for two weeks now[:(].

Cheers

I've been talking to volksrod about it again. He seems to be able to have small-ish meetings at clumber park whenever anyone fancies. I reckon we should go with there as a location. Partly because it is so big and partly because it is equi-distant for most people. I am told there are campsites near, or in the park. I suggest anyone who wants to camp over night (like mayself) should arrange to stay in one of these. We should all stay in the same one for some late night beverages and banter.

That's a great idea Stu!

It is massive & there is plenty of camping on there as well. Coz I saw em all on there the other night. Plus there was hardly anyone else there, Might be a bit differant when it gets warmer!?

Lets makes some dates (again) early July? Late August?

Come on, Lets get summat sorted lads![:D]

Clumber park is a great venue, but like i said before if you are going to have more than half a dozen people you should try contacting them first, otherwise you may have problems.

Its a very busy public park in the summer, lots of campers, cyclist, horse riders etc. I think you will be lucky to get a section of the park for running cars in unless you book it in advance. If you have 20+ cars turning up and then find you are harrassed by the park officials, not allowed to drive etc or trade out of the back of your cars, it could all turn a bit ugly.

All that said, if you arrange it properly with the parks consent (and maybe even help) it will be great [;)]

Just don't want to see people driving miles and being disappointed when they get there.

just my 2 cents.

[:P]That's it i've had enough[:D] ????????, I'm gonna go down to clumber when I come back off holiday and sort out some sort of a meeting as I need a weekend away with the cars and I want to set a date.

I will enquire about camping, prices etc, how much they want to rent a bit of land for the weekend in the usual BBq area.

It is quite central in the country so should be accesable by most of you and it is where we had the first meeting and foggy or not it was great[^]. Can't wait to see everyone again, cheers.

I'll keep you posted to how i get on, Cheers Bugsy

I would like to go back to snet, I think it would be a much more organised meet with no frequency interference and such plus it would be nice to go back there, when theres the good weather.[8D]

My only concern with clumber park, is does it have anywhere to run on-road cars? as alot of the cars runn at snetterton where on road cars (mainly I think because they didn't break as often)

Posted

I think i actually preferred running my off road cars on the on road track, less opportunity for breakages and less dirt (also batteries lasted longer)

BUT

Snetterton is just so far away.

Hey guys,

I'm with Purplebugsy on this one. We need to sort it soon. No more moaning about 'ON' or 'OFF' road. It's about meeting up & having a laugh & a good time![;)][:P]

we/you can not please everyone! Every body including myself are quick to point out bad idea's or problems, Instead of being positive and trying to sort something out.

Count me in Bugsy, I'll help with anything I can. While your on holiday I'll ring up & see who's running the place or whatever. See if they will let us set fire to the place with the BBQ'S!![:D][;)][:D]

If we do end up at Clumber, We could call it 'The summer Off road meet' & have a 'Autum on-road meet' later on in the year at Snetterton?!!??!! Just to even things out a little.

I mean we don't have to try & cram everything into one meet do we?

What do ya think chaps?

Hi all [:P]

Not so good news as I have just come off the phone to Clumber Park and they don't allow anyone to stop over as there insurance won't cover it [:(]

But on the otherhand they said they dont mind if we turn up and use the picnic area like we all did the first time last year as I had a great time and won't forget it for a long time [:D]

So I would say that the options are either :-

1, Just have an one day event on the sunday ???

2, find a local B&B / camp site and do saturday and sunday ???

3, not bother at all and just sit at home and wine about it ??

I am not bothered which one you choose to do but i'm getting sick of waiting to do some trading / racing and a good old natter.

I am going to also suggest a date of 20/21 of September 2003 as we really need to sort it out and have a laugh [:D]

I know there are no ammenaties for an on road track but maybee we can hire Snetterton again later in the year ???

Please reply to the post if you are interested and come on lets pull our fingers out and get racing, Cheers.

Cheers and thanks for reading, Paul (Bugsy)

Could one of the options not be consider snetterton as an alternative as opposed to doing it later in the year when weather cant be as predicatble.....not that it makes any odds to me, because I will be away for the 20/21. Its just seems that reading back through the post alot of people seem to be up for revisiting Snetterton.

Just a thought.
