You did well around the front wheel arch's.

I ended up buying some more decals for that area which I was lucky enough to find on eBay

Cheers Steve 😃

The Audi V8 Touring I finished a couple of weeks ago had an extra sticker, a narrow arc in the shape of the wheel arch, that overlaid all the other stickers around each corner and meant you could create a nice accurate fit over the arches as a finishing touch…it worked well and this Alfa would have really benefited from a similar sticker to finish each arch off. I got as close as I could to the edges but there’s still a gap 🤷🏻‍♂️

Finished the chassis of the TD2, just need to paint the shell.

Hop ups include the alloy suspension mount, carbon shock tower, DF03/TT02 dampers and alloy diff nut. I had some blue spacers and a 3x42mm blue alloy turnbuckle for the steering arm in my spares so they were thrown in. Kept the kit springs as I liked the colour, might not be the best performance-wise.

Just a Sport Tuned motor for now, as I've never used this motor before, might change to brushless at some point. Paired with a HW1060.

Also used my new Christmas gift crimping tool to shorten the servo wires which makes everything look neat. Took a couple of goes to get the hang of them.

The kit doesn't come with foam inserts for the wheels/tyres, but it feels like they're needed in the rear at least. The tyres "feel" flat.

Today I shopped some more...

Randomly bought a vintage Boomer body set with decals and chassis to stash the other day.  Sometimes I just wallow around 'WHAT can I get for under $100'...   Then looked for random vintage Boomers for a cheap basket case, then immediately found a really sweet one right of the bat from Japan.  NEW PROJECT!  Full vintage resto with vintage radio.

Ah, so YOU'RE the one who outbid me on that body set!

Oh well, nice to see it ended up with someone on TC!

;)

I ordered some goodies for the new MB-01 Mini Cooper when it comes out. So far I have 4 suspension balls, double carden drive shafts and new drive cups, bearings, a servo and a few other odds and ends. I am excited about this one!

During the initial build last year I had put a 17.5T brushless motor into my RC10T re-re. That was a bad idea... The car always felt laaaaaaame and outright boring to drive (because the suspension was never even challenged by the motor). No wonder it became the least used car in the fleet. And as I do not like soldering, changing out the motor was not something to look forward to. But yesterday evening, I got my soldering equipment out and replaced the 17.5T with a 13.5T. A first test left some tire tracks on the kitchen floor, which had to be carefully re-moved before the missus could see them!  I know that I should not use the cars inside the house, but I still do it frome time to time. Now I am looking forward for a real test outside!

Awesome, I'll be building a shelf queen in the same colour at some point - also inspired by Toyolien!

The past weeks the Ray-cave has been a big mess due to attic insulation work.

Now that I have my workbenches and equipment set-up again, it is time to sort out and re-organise all my electronics hobby stuff which is about 1 big closet full.
So far, that has taken op 2 weekends already! <_< Maybe I have a bit too much materials...... We all know how a hobby can get out of hand don't we... ;)

Hopefully, I can finish that this weekend, and than it's on to the next closet which is all the RC cars stuff.

Last week I switched my locked diff parts to open on the front axle of my CC-02 LC300 and filled it with silicone earplug to see if I could create an LSD effect. Got a chance to test it out, turned out to run pretty well and now have a much tighter turning circle.

I swapped my tight front diff to the rear and the loose rear diff to the front on my TT02 in attempts to get it to huck around better. I also put the drift tires back on for some indoor winter fun. While I am not a drifter at heart, I must say when you actually pull off a drift around something you actually intended to it's really fun.

Did a little mod on this Super Stock TZ motor.

Changed both brass bushings to ball bearings.

I guess I'm not supposed to call this "Super Stock" anymore. "Tuned TZ". I have no plans of using this in any races. This will be installed in my (half shelf queen, half runner) Wild One R.

I also might remove the tab that holds the endbell at zero timing. In that way, I can adjust the timing, increase or decrease if needed. Then it will be called "Super Tuned TZ" :D

Rough day at the track yesterday. The new layout is very technical.  I broke a left from arm, left front c hub, and the bell crank on my 511. Son broke the left rear hub on the durga. Replaced both of those. Thank God for Tamiya USA still having some key plastic parts in stock!

Finally found time to make measurements, cut metal, drill metal, and install my new hop-up front body mount for the Black Ranger.  This is how us Old Skool Doods did it before you all Youngins showed up with your 3D printer gadgets…

nX7Jxdn.jpeg

So now I am pretty much done with that mod.  But since I got these new wheels and tires, I want to convert back it back to a Buggy!  Lol!

Maybe not, the Black Ranger does look very cool…

Finally fitted the cover to pass the ESC wires. Really happy to see the tub empty and clean after a full hour of trail driving 😎

Yesterday I went to the club with a carpet version of the XV01 instead of the TL01 LA. I haven't broke anything, that's already some good news (just an upper arm that popped out twice, but the ball conector have much play, I have ordered new ones). It is powered by a Hobbying Justock 13.5T, so it was fast enough for me.
I had a really good time, and after some changes in the car's set up it worked quite good (it may need some stab bars). My driving skills are improving, but I still have much work to do... Anyway, it was fun and still make me want to continue.

Had some real trouble with the paint on this one, paint bleeds, bubbling, lack of cohesion to the body, but it's a runner, so not too bothered.

Im in the process of changing the furniture about in the living room so i picked up some shelving to get my cars and their boxes up off the floor.
The boxes used to be stacked behind my couch and the cars all spread about on open surfaces.

fzlg2L6.jpeg

I may end up consolidating similar chassis into one box, so Grasshopper/Lunchbox/Pumpkin/Pajero, Terra Scorcher/Fire Dragon, TT02s, DT02/DT03.
But for now that isnt a priority, its a corner shelf and the bit to the left of the picture  is still empty.

I think im gonna pic up a couple of storage tubs for random RC bits as well to clear off my table that is currently strewn with them.
