 So close! Think more of a part for an existing Tamiya RC.

A linear actuator for a tipping bed? Possibly on a Volvo or Heavy Dump?

I like the way you think, but alas, it is the beginnings of a simple Clod chassis. Sorry for the vague-booking moment. I just like how the some basic hardware store materials can be made into a new Clod Buster.

A little more progress on my racing 3 speed truck, and some organizing of my rubber tire bin after looking to see what tire/wheel options I have that can use for my various RBP cars once the snow/ice melts.

IMG_3233.jpeg.b6998ba1a36dbab0752f4d639bd52157.jpeg
Had some wheels I was going to use on another car but decided to put them on my 911, since they had adjustable offset I could eliminate the gap that the stock rears had. Could’ve done the same with wider hexes I have sitting in my spare parts but I forgot I had them till after the wheels were on, and I’m too lazy to change them now

IMG_3234.jpeg.16cfe425fe6ae779647e55e2e1ba0cfe.jpeg

Then I put new electronics in the M02 so it'll be easy to use for RBP since it’ll now share the transmitter and batteries from my other cars

IMG_3235.jpeg.66ca1ca383bc77f015c07f101d4d887a.jpeg

and finally I put new wheels and tires on one of my F201s, I’ve been trying to find readily available and cheaper options since I don’t want to use touring car wheels/tires and wheels seem impossible to find. It also doesn’t hurt to have another tire option. Front wheels need an adapter to work since they’re for 2wd but seems like it’ll work out ok. I’ll know for sure when spring comes. Tires are same widths just a little taller (mostly rears) and wheels are same sizes as the stock ones so they don’t look too out of place.

Looks great!

May I ask what wheels and tires they are?

Made some progress in the form of clear coating the FB body from Mr @toyolien

The last half full can I had decided to start spitting its contents out from bottom of the nozzle after the first coat so I’ve called that it as looks good to me (even better without my glasses on). It’s certainly scratched the 10yr old me’s itch of the elusive Super Champ that never happened back then thanks to the included extra MCI decal sheet that was generously supplied with it 😁. One thing for sure it’s turning out much nicer than I would have done 40 years ago 😂.  Just the roll cage to paint in, fit nets & driver and she’ll be good for a spin 👍🏻

This year I am trying to work on RC projects more regularly, and its working so far. So the last couple of weeks have been focused mainly on getting a 3D printed Marui Mitsubishi body done.

I've completed the body parts (well, except the spot lights at the top). Dash and steering wheel are done, just not shown. I managed to get a Comical Hornet Chassis so, the first body to test will go on that. All parts except the driver for the body are printed in either FDM printed in ABS, ASA or PETG. And I resin printed the steering wheel, winch are jerry can. Windscreen is laser cut 0.75 mm PETG. Already after moving it around a bit, refitting the roll cage, I will need to rethink the screws I am using.

and I have started to paint it. I also setup a portable trolley so I'm not leaving a constant mess on the table. Mrs Yogi-bear approved!

plus have also printed and sent off some stickers for @silvertriple

I think the only missing parts are one of the steering pushrods, the antenna tube and a body clip.

The diff feels nice, the shocks all still have oil in them and the tires are all round

Feel very lucky to have found and been able save this one :D

@Ziddan - it has the unicorn rear window too. Had one of these back in the days ... Sweet! :)

I had guessed it was vintage from the decals, resistor, MSC and Acoms RX, hadnt even realized its got the full windows set, thanks for pointing it out :D
Will try to carefully remove the marker lines from the front fenders, Possibly clear coat the body to preserve the decals, clean up the chassi a bit, slap in a Flysky RX, some ESC and then it should be driveable after i make a new steering pushrod and tighten up some of the screws around the front end/shock mount.

My Midnight Beetle shell will be moving from my stretched wheelbase CW-01 chassi onto my modded Thundershot chassi, becoming the Midnight Thunder Scorcher instead.

Then that CW-01 is getting unstretched so the one unmodified CW-01i have will no long have to do double duty for my Pumpkin and Lunchbox shells.

Spent a little time to clean off the chassi and look closer at it.

Took a front wheel off, plastic bushings there so im going to suspects its not got any bearings installed.

its probably not rare but i hadnt seen this before: Its got a 2 pin output seemingly factory wired from the MSC and hooked to a what i guess is a BEC built onto the power switch, which in turn feeds the RX.

Anyone know if this and the RX dates the car?

I think its one of these:

How are you getting the white on those stickers? Is at an ink or are you removing the surrounding off cuts? They look really smart.

Also the metal servo saver brace, if you'd like to find one.

Great save / score!

Thanks, I am fortune enough to have 2 large format printers that I use in my business, and both of them have white ink, something which I do a fair bit of printing now. One also lets me print a gloss which I can actually give a bit of layered height too (as well as opting to put that layer either on top or underneath the print), so I can do kind of a raised number plate with it, as well as some textures.

a pic of 1/10th and some 1/64 prints. You can just see the raised effect of the ink.

number-plates-1-scaled.jpeg

I've been able to print white ink for a couple of years now, and it opens all sorts of opportunities for printing to specialty vinyls, like this eagle for a Marui Eagle Jeep. Plus I have a vinyl cutting linked to each machine, so it's possible to cut out the stickers.

Huh, that part is also new to me, ive got a Rere Blackfoot and it didnt have one of those so i didnt realize it was missing here. Rere cost savings i guess?

Nah, im not looking to do a period correct rebuild, just to have a running Monster Beetle, If the servo saver ends up popping i guess ill just design and print a part or switch to a different servo saver :)

Took the front arms off to tighten down the stays and now the front end is solid.

Im thinking ill make an adapter plug with a deans with a JST so i can plug in a modern BEC and run it with the MSC and my 2s lipos, at least to try initially, i havent driven a car with a MSC since i still had a Marui Big Bear somewhere around the tail end of the last millennium :P
