I think at that price point the seller is holding out for the “rosebud” buyer

Well Not really getting what rosebud buyer means, but I would like to have that original falcon, sealed. It's too much tho....I mean for me it is and I'm no longer interested in the "worth" of Tamiya anymore. Plus I'm betting the falcon will be released again sometime. I'd be happy with a re release for sure

If I knew a couple years ago what I know now about piecemealing together that particular ******* and then trying to find a box and manual as well, I'd absolutely have been better off spending 800 for NIB <_<

It has definitely made me price up those scenarios first - lesson learned.

If you are interested in that falcon I'm talking about... P/m me and I'll link the listing to you. I'm not sure if we are suppose to post stuff for sale in this section.

I already got in trouble for my trump thread, so I don't want to add to my citations, lmao.

When Gran Turismo was released in 97 or 98, I remember I was the only one amongst my Frenchy friends knowing some cars in the game. Thanks to Tamiya RC Guide Books that I was drooling over... The game had plenty of Japanese cars, and for sure the Guide-books also.
The barely known in Europe R32 Nismo Clarion was my favorite On-Road car at the time :)

Love your JDM collection, by the way. Great stuff

Gran Turismo 2/3 and those Tamiya catalogues are basically what the entire hobby is based around for me now. Im slowly transitioning selling all my useable RCs and putting the money into basically the Tamiya On Road car catalogue of the 1990’s. I dont get much time to use an RC any more, so I can kind of justify shelfers. I think Im going to sell one of my big RCs (X Maxx, XRT etc) to get the funds together for a 49400 30th Anniversary

Finished off the driver for my Turbo Optima.

Now only the last few tweaks left to do on the body shell, and the next photos on the matter will hopefully be about the finished item.

After struggling to take to putting the supplied wing on the Mini, mainly coz thinking brush painting the top side as the protective film is on the underside was a good idea. Turns out not really, as the brush marks and bits of dust wasn’t great against the nice Lexan roof, even after trying a satin to the gloss before it. I remembered that I had a wing from another body that was highly likely never to be used as its was big enough to go hang gliding with, but chopped down suited much better I feel. Being black plastic already meant no paint needed, happy days 😃

Had fun racing in the Tamiya race day at my local track.

Raced in three classes (Touring, M-chassis & Trucks)... very busy day!

Hopefully there will be more trucks at the next one as only two of use made the start of the final.

More work on the RC (used loosly as it is wireless) Astromech(s).

The little one is about 10 years old and had an outdated control app that will not work on modern phones, so got an old android 6 phone for bluetooth control with that app.

The larger one I re-did the electronics to move the controls away from playstation controller -> towards app control.
That's coming along nicely, driving can be controlled by a custom designed app over bluetooth. Now to add the head and lights.

Theres been some nice weather this last couple of weekends so rather than go out I finished painting my Super Astute.

Apart from some tricky window masking it was all white so nothing too taxing.

@Superluminal nice to see a driver in there. Looks great 👍

I found some blingy dampers for TT02 and similar a while ago and decided to give them a try, intrigued by their low price and good reviews. I have never been happy with my Mini CVAs because, besides having very little stroke to begin with, they came with no springs. They are supposed to work with the ones supplied in the kit, which are waaaay too stiff, almost to the point that it defeats the purpose of having dampers altogether. Unless, of course, you buy the spring set, which I wasn't able to find at the time.

20250316-154729.jpg

The dampers, besides the odd branding (there were two or three different names on the packaging alone, plus another different one on the shock bodies 🤣) seemed to be legit and ok quality, at least at first impression. Right out of the box there's a dramatic improvement on the looks -I couldn't even notice the Mini CVAs in all that chassis blackness, if it wasn't for the springs;  they have double the stroke within the same lenght, are a perfect drop in, they are correctly filled with oil, and came with two sets of springs of different hardness and an extra set of metric hardware.

20250304-142508.jpg

So, where's the catch? After all this goodness on the surface, I expected them to start leaking like a pasta strainer within minutes of use. But I was pleasantly surprised: I ran a whole battery pack in anger and no leaks at all so far, plus a huge improvement on the handling. Gotta finish sorting out the pictures of the outing and I'll post some action, but I can already say so far so good! I am really impressed with these nice little dampers 😀

That should help the co-driver hang to his race notes @Ferruz 👍🏻

Also not sure if you or any other Canadian members are aware the since you can’t get Tamiya PS paint anymore ‘On Point’ is made in Canada for poly carb bodies now, as covered in a Poor Boys video…

I took the Delta Integrale for a test drive and, while not as noticeable since on ice, there was definitely some improvement to be felt. I could even spot the suspensions actually working under those mud flaps! It's going to be more noticeable on firmer ground.

The playground of choice was a lone hockey rink, undergoing maintenance and therefore deserted. Made for a good platform for some drifting, and within minutes of running I had that grin on my face... can't get enough of seeing this car in action!

Driver and co-pilot seemed to be having a great time indeed20250316-155044.jpg

This was a great outing. Can't wait to see how these shocks perform on rougher ground.

The last few weeks I have been remaking the decals for a Tamiya Lanica Evo IV and a Kyosho Taisan Porsche. Artwork now all done and first test print of the Mitsubishi stickers. Body decals I managed to print onto a metallic silver vinyl to mimic the metallic silver ink used on the decal sheet (and on the actual car). I also did the front grill with radiator a bit differently, but I think what I have done is a bit too bright. I'll make some adjustments and also do the main stickers with a gloss finish, but I like the idea of the radiator and vent stickers in a matt finish

Late start due to the fact Im an adult and have to go to stupid work 🙄

Made a start on the BT-01, Ive had it since release but decided to build it as I think itll look great. I have everything I need to build/run it but then at the last minute I decided to buy a bearing set to build into it so for now Ill start the shell. Just going to try and do an hour each evening.

I know theyre not the greatest chassis, but I fancy building something, Ive never built one before, and I bought this months ago so its basically a “freebie”.

Sat at work… looking outside quite often, wishing I could run my Blockhead Wild One in the local woods on such a bright sunny day. Not talking about the Alison Krauss & Union Station song, Bright Sunny South.

A bit of rough restoration work on these.

Bottom ones better than the other condition wise. Had to find donor ESC's for the wire crimp part and @ucacjbs helped me get some new correct silicone wire👍🏻

There's a small part of me that wants one of these chassis's, admittedly only a small part but it's the fact it can be rwd that does it for me.

Be interested to see it being built.

It was the fact it was a Porsche and not on a TA02/TT02 that sealed it for me. I got it on release day so knew nothing about the BT-01. Looking forward to it in a weird and wonderful way

Thanks to whoever got the RC10 4WD Amain had in stock briefly today. I was about to pull the trigger on it, but thank you.

This one is very hard to resist LMAO but I have to....last year's spending frenzy was absolutely ridiculous and immature on my part.

How do you erase you're account and name on here? Is there a master button to hit and delete ? Seems after my big Trump sucks thread, one is ignored and ousted for daring to show displeasure at their government on an RC car forum. (I won't apologize for disrupting talk about little toy cars)

So I'd rather be shot into space than continue to post.

I guess a mod can tell an admin to delete me and all my history here?
