Unfortunately all the sportscars with their screaming color schemes and being covered with sponsor stickers never really touched my heart.

I think the Previa sticks out from the crowd since it is so "usual and everyday" - nothing exotic, but becomes exotic in a way. And you know, "weniger aber besser" (less but better) is a way to express oneself creatively. Go for it, and show us the result.

These new volumes of Initial D are getting a bit strange...

I hear there are huge cats that live in the mountains in japan, and they really love tofu. lol

Ran a pack through my clod buster. I've got my stampede charged and ready to go too. Might head back out after I cool off a bit.

I did a few laps with my XM01 Pro "NSU Prinz" and my XM 01 Pro "Scorcher". It rained in between, but it was still a lot of fun. A neighbor also drove the cars and was particularly impressed by the standard XM01 Pro.

I haven't had much of chance to  do too much for a while, I've been working too much and trying to tidy things up,  so today I made a box, not a great looking box, but a sturdy box and I need a sturdy box for this project.

Pro-Line-Bulldog-Vac-Form-5.jpeg

and into that box I put a Proline Bull Dog unpainted and uncut body that took a bit to find

Pro-Line-Bulldog-Vac-Form-1.jpeg

and into the body that is in the box, I cut up some foam blocks, wrapped in left over vinyl sticker sheets and strapped to two bits of wood. So this

Pro-Line-Bulldog-Vac-Form-4.jpeg

ends up like this, and then next weekend I pour plaster in there to make a mold of the resulting cavity.

Pro-Line-Bulldog-Vac-Form-3.jpeg

and a couple of weeks before that, I started playing around with Fusion360 again and learnt to make some roll bars, in particular some Hotshot ones

Hotshot-remake-parts-roll-cage-4.jpeg

and then 3D printed them, the print is a bit rough, but I'm happy enough with the modelling that I will at some stage reprint them properly. The rear cage is the original, the front one the dodgy 3D print, but I can get the print better

I also started working on modelling the hotshot gears

Still in a downsizing phase, I took a picture of all the Space Age Buggies. Offroad Spaceships. Over Unrealistic Cars? Don't know, but the Re-re Super Sabre is all what I need.
If there are some amateurs of both Nikko buggies among readers here, I'd be glad to send them for the price of the postage :) (please feel free to PM me)

The lil' yellow one works, but I don't have the transmitter, the green one works perfectly & would come with transmitter, original (cracked :/ ) bumper, and an additional (half complete & working electronics) chassis.

Today we went to an autojumble - the same one at which I found a bargain M-01 a while back - and this time I found this Hornet chassis for sale:

2025-06-08_03-34-30

Based on things like the ancient servo it has fitted, the provision for a hump pack, the spot to hook a rubber band for securing the AA batteries to power the pre-BEC radio gear, shafts instead of screws as kingpins, etc, I think it is an original. I have a re-re in my fleet as well as a Jun Watanabe version, but I've been wanting an original for a while now. It is missing a few bits, but to the best of my knowledge they are ones that haven't had their molds changed over the years, so I don't feel bad replacing them with new parts. Still undecided on the bodyshell - current thinking is a Penguin repop that I can trim to the original cutlines - but I am also considering a period hop-up or alternative, or maybe even a used and battered original if I can find one. We'll see what happens. :)

I see no cracks in the front of the chassis, that's a rare find for a Hornet lol.

Indeed - especially one of this age. It looks to have been run for a bit and then put away for a few decades, judging by the relative lack of marks on the underside, the vestiges of spikes still visible on the rear tyres, and the lack of cracks to the chassis tub.

After burning up $60 in CF due to stupit mistakes ("stupit" being the scientific term for something which is 'beyond stupid') I decided I needed to take a break for a bit. Which is of course when inspiration strikes.

TA01/02/DF01 top plate. Doubt it will improve performance, but it sure looks better than that ugly hunk of plastic necessary for the mechanical speed controller and it's servo.

Bought an Optima Mid from member DGunn during the week and got the chassis finshed last night.

Its built box stock and as usual the fit and finish of all the parts is really good. I cant believe how small and compact it is. The shorter wheelbase is very noticable against the its contemporary like the Dogfighter I built a couple of weeks ago.

The other thing thats apparent - if you ever needed to swap a diff the entire chassis willl need to be stripped. It doesnt seem like ita maintainable without a rebuild, unlike the Dogfighter where the diff covers lift off.

I've given my DT-02 some love over the weekend:

(please excuse the dust...)

That looks most intriguing. Care to share a pic of it installed?

Today I spent several minutes wandering the house looking for a part that I had just been working on, only to realise that I was holding it in my left hand. 🤪

Me today in the nail salon. Similar to when deciding which colour paint to choose for Egress Body!

TT-02 is now fully ballraced, thank you RC Bearings!

The BSD Truggy I'm looking to sell needs a steering servo, as I suspect it has a broken tooth inside so the steering flops around a bit. I'm going to swap it out for the servo in the buggy and see if that works. The guy I'm trying to sell it too is expecting me to supply a new battery, as the NIMH packs it came with charge for about 10 mins, the charger says they're done, then they last about 2 seconds then die! Unless there is a way to revive them? I don't think I should have to supply a new battery for a 3rd hand rc car? Or am I wrong?
