Too much salt had to take off the rings?

You did the flip thing and got two to land standing up?

One is vintage one is re-re?

I changed the wheels on the WPL Jimny and removed the fog lights for a cleaner, "stock" look. Does anyone have a 6 inch Barbie or Wrestling figure sitting around, by any chance?

The chassis of my Turbo Optima is done, including side bars and wheels. I don't have any photos yet, but will take some soon. For now I'm happy to say that the wheels, which I've obsessed about way too much for way too long, look SO good on it, way beyond my best expectations.

Next thing, I started working on the body by cutting it out of the mold. I can't recall who started the trend a while ago (was that you, @BuggyDad?), but fellas over here have been showing off their skills by cutting it off in one go. I was very impressed, as I usually just nibble at the mold until I get close enough to the body to feel comfortable cutting it out.

This time, I thought I'd give it a try! While imperfect and still in need of filing, I seem to have managed... although I gotta admit, there is an ingress cut in the bottom right corner 😅 I think the real daredevils here don't even have that??

This was fun, the risk of ruining the whole thing by scoring it with the blade sure gave me a thrill!

Not today, but yesterday evening I was able to finish the XV-02 so it is ready for it's first test drive. The electronics have been in since Christmas,  but since I wanted to run a Sunpadow slimline battery I had to come up with a solution for mounting it. This was also due to OE parts missing, but so is it when buying 2nd hand and it was dirt cheap. The battery is charging now and I'm gonna run it after my second and last attempt on the current Endurance Postal Racing course with the well working winter XV-01.

I'm gonna shorten the ESC and servo cables and find a better solution for the antenna later. Now I just wanna run it. I can do that when I mount the center diff.

Smashed the poor gorgon into a kerb at high speed. Minor damage to the front end as you can see but the impact has dislodged the pinion , knocked the motor out of whack and in a furious state I've tried to remove the screws and rounded the two off circled in the 2nd photo.

What do I do?

Are you able to cut slots into the screw heads with a rotary tool/Dremel or other device? That might give you a shot at getting at the screws with a screwdriver... Either way, I'm sorry this happened :(

As for me: I'M ALIVE! And so is my Bruiser ^_^

I looked at the tiny licence plates I made for my Bruiser and am amazed I can still drive it into September 2025!

My province even effectively abolished those stickers  It was also the first time I had driven it in 4 years...

In any case, I hope to get back into the hobby this year! My Super Striker is still collecting dust, but I've already started an effort to restore my classic Lancia Rally

As far as RC, pondered on wether or not to sell my sealed 45th anniversary porche.  I got it on a bundle deal, but really wasn't into on road cars or like porches TBH. I just liked the box and wanted it for future value reasons.

Well I can care less about values now and mostly want to run my cars, not have a bunch of boxes. So I'm thinking of selling a few of my "dust collecting boxes in favor of modern cars I can actually run

Raced in my first ever RC event with my stock class TT-02. Finished 4th (last) in the B final, but proud of myself!

More snow/mud running, this time with the WPL Jimnys stock tires (which are a bit too hard imo, but they're foam less so more water proof). Also, legitimate proof that Suzukis are prone to rolling over!

So it begins...

XV-01 step 1, the diffs. After 3 days vertical and gasket side down (unlike the picture), no leak. Hopefully it will remain so when I start running the car. I chose 5000 front, 2000 rear and it feels just right when twisting the outdrives and by comparison with my other rally car.

Ha! Yes, here's the thread:

I started the thread but I'm sure I didn't start the idea, I just did my bit to share it!

Yeah man I have ordered some bits for the dremel. I will tackle the screws when it arrives. I also need to order the hot racing motor plate from the USA  so this doesn't happen again.

Soldered wires to a couple of motors, installed one (23T) in the midnight pumpkin sneaking into the background there (hop-up hubs because somehow we managed to crack one of the plastic ones). I’ve soldered a lot of electronics, but this is my first time with heavy gauge wire, and it is a different world. Luckily my soldering iron will get very hot, but still, it felt all kinds of wrong to be holding such heat for so long to make a good solder.

Pumpkin innards need some wire management so I’m too shy to include a picture 😳

Today I fitted some bigger 1.9 tires to my CC02 chassis. They looked cool which made me happy. :)They rubbed the steering knuckle which made me sad.:( Then I checked the prices on wheel wideners and they were pricey, which made me sadder. Then I compared my wheels to another set of CC02 wheels (different styling) and saw the offset was different. I was surprised.:o I test fitted the second set of wheels and now nothing rubs. I was very happy. What an emotional roller coaster of a day.
