Hello dear folks, I've been taken out of modelling business for around one week or so. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday I got hit by a colic and went to the hospital by ambulance. But no need to worry or pity. Pain is gone, but my gallbladder needs to be removed, because it looks like a bag of gravel. And the gallstones will try to make their way out, what caused the pain. Since they will do no surgery at the weekend, I'll have to wait until Monday when they have to remove one "little traveller" first and when all this will cause no further complications, they will remove the bladder itself a few days later. But as I wrote, no need for worry, this is a routine surgery and it will just keep me away a week or a little more from my hobby. Have all a good time and I will have a look here fom time to time from my sickbed. 😉🙋🏼‍♂️

Hope all goes ok. :)

First day of teapot racing at the Asylum Steampunk Festival, first race for Miss Tea, who won her first gold medal. 👍

No need to apologise. Splendid teapot racing is a silly sport intended to generate merriment and amusement. If it brought you a laugh, that's great! 😁

It is a work of art. Bittydesign make some absolutely wonderful bodies, I had no idea they made 1:10 scale until I was on the modelsport website earlier. Now all I need is a new chassis to put this body on.

If the XV-02RS Pro is still on the somewhat cheap side ;grab one.

To achieve more ground clearance on my XM01, I shortened the rear knuckles and front c-hubs. I hope that I will now be less likely to get stuck on any obstacles or bumps.

As I'm planning to use the car for rallying in the near future, I don't need the lowering option. If I change my mind, I have the original spare parts on hand.

The MF-01x chassis I have came with a long and short wheel base center driveshaft, but offcourse I needed the middle size one.

These can be ordered for 15 euros including shipping, which I thought was a but too much for a single little piece of metal.

So I went to the DIY store, bought 1 meter of 5mm diameter aluminium rod for 3 euros, and used my 'new' lathe to turn a piece to exactly 188mm, and add 2mm holes at 14.5mm from the ends to make the middle size shaft myself. ^_^

Totally didn't know that Emco made those Unimats in black, mine is green :)

This Emco is quite old, I bought it from a couple that was well in retirement, and they told me his father had used it back in the days.

It was filthy from age and sitting in a shed, and I think it was re-painted black at some point in its life. That explains the color, it was originally green or grey-ish.

I stripped it, cleaned it, and had a spray can of matte black to give it a nice clean coat of black to freshen it up and trap the smell...

Man ... I wish I could have a real workshop. But the kitchen table is better than nothing. :)

I documented the build of a NIB re-release Stadium Thunder for the 6th birthday of our youngest son in my project thread:

Recently I read a few comments that fewer "builds" were posted. That is a shame indeed. I'm not the best writer but I did my best to document this build.

I will keep you in prayer for quick recovery. And the doctors steady hands.

I have also been approved for bariatric weight loss surgery. I will be turning 60 in September and have been dealing with my heavy weight since high school. Depression and eating.

So in October 2nd, I will be starting my new body. My joints will be extremely happy. Currently my weight is 383. I was 400 lbs. My goal is 200 to 250. When I came home from navy boot camp I weighed 180 and I looked sickly.

Yep, until the wife yells at you for having axle grease and scratch marks on the table. 😆

I haven't mentioned that I (or Junior) happened to nick the table with my small Ryoba saw ... that would be the "sleeping in the doghouse" situation if that came to light. :D

The great part of having a crafter wife - no grief over table marks as we both make them! 😊

On holiday with family. Nieces and nephews enjoying trucks!

I absolutely love the front end of the lunch box.

Thanks. A 3D print. Very happy to share files. Edited from a few to make it easy to print on a cheap printer.

It's also on a QD chassis, one of my favourites!

It does appeal to me. I don't like the chrome front on lunch box, I might end up adding this. :)

Found a set of wheels that I think will fit my XM01 Pro Beetle well.

Found them in my wheels box and I don't think they are from Tamiya. Maybe I had them on the TL01 Stadium Raider I used to own. The rims are still good, but the tyres won't last much longer.

Actually she can't yell to much after she has tried to repair the broken candy dish and glued it to the table. Very secure to add.

Just picked up a free Cox Bandido from a post on Facebook marketplace. Front end isn’t connected but doesn’t appear broken either. Gearbox rolls smoothly so we’ll see if it was worth the 50 mile round trip!

Over the past few days, built a new TT02 from leftover pieces and new parts. Our local indoor carpet club has decided to take the TT02 class to match the GT Pro Spec class per Tamiya USA's website:

See Article 15 for all the specific rules: https://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/rules/

https://www.tamiyausa.com/media/files/2025-tcs-rules-962-ab87.pdf

(Previously, our TT02 class followed the Porsche Cup, which was a short wheelbase with far fewer hop ups).

So that meant it was a new opportunity to build yet another car haha! And after said build was complete, I took it to the track over the weekend to test and iron out any issues. Thankfully, it was mainly just tire gluing and saucing that needed attention. I had a consistent low 16 second lap (best lap time of 15.8 seconds) so the 21.5T Fixed Timing Motor provided fairly constant speed throughout.

Personally, I DO miss the brushed Torque Tuned Motor as it's acceleration provided character. But with this HobbyWing FTM Motor, everyone should now be racing in a more controlled environment, where driving skills will factor more in the races.
