Wanted QD Monster Beetle white top

I am searching for the white version of the QD Monster Beetle top for the model released early 90's.

If it has the decals, even better!

It was in production recently as the GF01?. But I think the body colour was moulded in red. Not sure if it was ever available as a spare part though?

I think it was listed as optional parts in the paper work that came with mine.

Yes, I think it was originally, I was suggesting that a new one maybe easier to find and paint white than finding an original.

Very much true! There is one original white on ebay, but it is the entire car.

 

I am also looking for the inner parts of the wheels (don't know the English word) the yellow barrel that the tyres sit on. Because I have two sets of tyres. With knobs/spikes and the standard ones without knobs/spikes. If I got another set of wheel "insides" I could glue the tyres.

You mean the "rims" or "wheels". I have QD rims/wheels in white and yellow ... unused stock. I may have a body shell too, but I have to look up the color and I fear it is used.

I guess rims is the word I'm looking for. Are you willing to part with 4 of them? White if you have

 

Please look for the body shell! Used does not matter. And if it is another color it might be possible to paint it!

Thank you! But it doesn't seem to be exactly the same? That is the trail version it seems. Would that fit a 90s QD?

I can't say for sure - but I would assume it is the same.

Edit: had a quick look, yes, it is the same - I mean Tamiya is very much about repurposing parts from one model to another, newer one.

I had to dig a bit in the attic and pulled a set of QD rims out:

And where I found these, there are ... erm ... "a few" more ... 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

I found these around two decades ago in eBay by chance for a quite reasonable price, when I was deeper into QD cars as I am today.

I used my QD Beetle bodies on a Kamtec and QD buggy

Because for me I wasn't a huge fan of them on the Monster Trucks
