Painting the driver figure

Is it easier to paint the driver figure while it is on the parts tree?

I may end up painting the driver figure before carrying on building the Hornet Evo.

For me certainly the face, yes, using brush paint.  Then mask it off and spray the helmet before hand brushing the final black parts

No, then you have the gates to deal with. Cut off, make good, use a cocktail stick and bluetac to hold the part.
