Seeing as January is half way through I’d start this off. What are our hopes/information/guesses etc for the coming year. New releases, re-releases, Tamiya, not Tamiya???! The skys the limit🙃

I constantly hope Tamiya and BMW resurrect their licensing agreement to bring back the Rover Mini Cooper (among others)

I hope there are more TD series releases with new bodies. It's such a great platform and I would hate for it to go away.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the Dyna Storm return this year. I hope so anyway.

Would love to see another variant of the BB-01 chassis, which is currently only used by the BBX.

Much want?  Dyna Storm.  Will they do it?  I'm not sure.  It's one of very few golden era buggies they haven't re-re'd in recent times, and certainly the most high-end model yet to be re-seen, so it's a guaranteed good seller.  Doesn't mean they'll do it though.

Elsewhere, I guess there's a long wheelbase Mid due from Kyosho and possibly the Bosscat from Schumacher?

I would love to see something on the HighLift chassis again. Something scale, with a hard plastic body in the good old Tamiya style.
The Tundra was such a great body !

Come on Tamiya, high time to finally revive this chassis.

The 1st A.I. designed chassis?

2025 Land Cruiser?

Side by Side ATV?

Flat/Milky colored PS and TS paints

A move to hex hardware and plastic with a little more flex

Discounts suggest you are in a minority that think it is a good platform, I think Big T got their fingers burned badly on that one and we won't see it again.

BBX is much closer to the spirit of a retro-modern buggy, not sure if that has been flying off the shelves either but would be great to see another body on the platform.

My main hope for Tamiya at the moment is to just put a bit more effort in.

I appreciate they they are probably trying to keep costs down, but there are too many shoddy chassis being released, too many bodies that they can't be bothered to licence fully or do all the accessories for, and too much reliance on continuous re-releases of re-releases from the 80s and 90s.

The static model range is still excellent but RC has been slipping for a long time.

I'd like to see a RM show up this year. Maybe the TOMS Toyota please?

I am hoping for a 60's style f1 car on a dt03 chassis with a scale cockpit,  driver, and engine. The cigar shaped chassis of the Dt03 makes it perfect for this type of car.

With 1/12 racing as popular as ever, at least in the US, plus Kyosho pumping out re-re Phantoms, I'm still puzzled that we're not seeing any come back of the RM-01. Looks like Tamiya has a current licensing agreement with both Porsche and Toyota? So either the NewMan Porsche or Toyota Toms RM-01's would be spot on and probably sell instantly.

I would LOVE Tamiya to release the Mountain Rider Hilux again as I have wanted that for many years, that thing is beautiful! MK1/MK2 escort on a proper rwd chassis would be nice also.

+ on the BMW reunion. Several E30 bodies out there, but none as nice as Tamiya's (as usual). And a 507 or Z8 M-chassis car.

Also Ford. Would love to see a '63 Falcon Rally Sprint.

Early Indy and F1 bodies is a cool I like that idea, but might have to be on the TC-01 chassis to hide the dampers. 1950's Midget racers would work well, but not exactly Tamiya's cup of tea.

And obviously the 959 for the anniversary everyone is lusting for.

They'd never do it, but Can Am bodies on an RM would be fun.

None, so that all of us that are financially irresponsible, can catch up with the cars out now!

If I could wish for something it would be a re-release of the B2B racing sidecar. 😍

Yepp.

I got my TD-2 together and think it's cool as all heck.  I don't get why it was hated so bad.

I think everyone thought it was suppose to mimick the old Astute and disappointed they didn't get an actual Updated Astute made with carbon fiber or something. Instead they got a whole new car with a body they didn't like.

I really think that if they used a different name other than astute or avante, those cars would of sold better.

If you know what I mean

This is what I wanted to see last year when this similar question was asked for 2024.   And as such, I'll officially use this post as my place holder for the 2026 request thread when that emerges about a year from now.  :D

With me, my collection is complete.

I got all the cars I drooled over when I was a kid, plus a few others, I'm happy and don't need to get every car released. I'm consantrating on newer race buggies and RC helicopters now.

Id like to get an Optima and Ultima some time, but it's not necessary plus I'm financially unable to to for a while.

Getting a RC10 graphite car would be cool if they release one. Just to have a variant of the rc10 next to my gold pan, plus the building experience.

Other than that, my collection and s A-OK.

Bad timing on Tamiyas part imo.

A quirky car, at race car money meant it probably wasn't going to fly off the shelves in the current cost of g̶r̶e̶e̶d̶ living crisis.

I'm hoping the Optima Mid Custom / special chassis is re released, with shorty compatibility, although aye, maybe a little lottery win to help things move along wouldn't go a miss..
