I am afraid to say I am one of the softcores who only went for the one day...still, what a day. If I had to sum the day up in just one word, it would be....

COLD!!!

My God at times it was unbearable!

This was partly due to my own stupidty, in my rush to get there and only having a couple of hours sleep the night before, I left without my jacket....typical! It was so cold that it was hard to do things like take body clips off, due to the lack of feeling in the hands.

Apart from the cold it was a fantastic day, the track was huge, as Chris has said in earlier report the off-road track was a bit over grown but still drivable. It was great to meet so many people that I have spoken to through the club, a great crowd of people! It was good to see so many cars, plus I got to hold my first sand scorcher.

The races were catagorised well, and good fun, except all the races I entered my cars for, I had a few problems with them, mostly interference related, although some may say just **** driving [:D].

A special mention has to be made of Alans(synchronc)son who was great as the announcer/race commentator and certainly not microphone shy, a great job well done I think![^]

I have come back with some minor damge to most of my cars, still only to be expected and I am happy to say it was not caused by anyone other than myself. I think it was mostly due to launching my cars off of big jumps on to concrete[:P] Well, have jump will go over it, thats what I say!

All in all a great day, big thanks go to all that were involved in organising the event[^]

I cant wait for the next one and think that Snetterton would be an ideal venue for it! I would love to go back, especially when its warmer, next time I will be there for both days and next time I WILL HAVE A JACKET!!!!!

I have to agree with you on everything you said, especially the cold. That wind was the most anoying thing as every time you took of your shell, it blew away, especially the lexan ones! I only stayed for the day as it was so cold and didnt fancy spending the night in it but the day i was there was really great.

Did some damage but nothing too bad. Broke the roof pillars iun the rough rider and broke the rear shock mount in my Avante (only had it a few days [:(] ) Never mind, i will get a carbon fibre one from fibrelite this week and all will be well.

The highlight of the day was the SRB race that i was in. I wasnt concentrating on postition as all my effort was going into preventing it rolling (only one roll and the roof broke!)

Not to forget the marder race that was great to watch (lets hope the snetterton track people dont notice that chunk missing from the big jump [;)]

Yup brilliant two days, the chance to race all those cars together was top... highlights have to be my hotshot race against mooseys boomerang, will have to be a round 2 sometime[:D] and that blackfoot race on Sunday was a classic, but all good apart from some minor damage that we all seem to have suffered... my poor txt also suffered from the jumps onto concrete(or should i say into concrete). Looking forward to next meet already.

I have to agree with gingerboy, it was certainly cold on Saturday, glad the weather was kinder on Sunday, even if I couldn't make it.

It was great to meet a couple of other F1 fans and get to run my F201 at Snetterton, my TA03R came out from Euro-Cup retirement for a blast and went well too. Certainly the fastest Tamiya in the very limited Touring Car Race on Saturday. Well done Disco with the fastest Wild Willy in the East!

Good to see all the Vintage cars, Big-wigs, Avante's as well as the Fox's, Wild One's and the really great showing from the Sand Scorchers and Rough Riders. There were at least 14 genuine Sand Scorchers in the group photo on Saturday. Who said they were rare? Well done to all you enthusiasts for keeping these oldies going and even having the nerve to run them in many cases.

What price a Summer Drive?

Definatly worth going to, even though I left most of my batteries at home! Good to be able to race on both tracks although I am gutted I missed Biggus' smoky C11 laps!

Great weekend.

The final score:

Cars taken - 8

Cars run - 4

Cars broken - 4 [:I]

Cars bought - too many [8)]

Cars sold - Nil

People met - Loads

An excellent result.

Thanks for your efforts Chris.

To top it off I bought a SS (albeit dog rough) from a bod I got talking to around the track!

Biggus my man!

Just going back to what you said about our 'ding dong' together on the track, with the Hotshot, Boomerang & Blackfoots. one word 'BLISS!'

It was such a buzz & brought back loads of memmories as I used to race the Boomerang in the 80's[:D][:D]

Also we had some fun fella with my Subaru touring car & your little beast, Sorry forgot what it was. But it was FAST!![;)]

Oh & I had to mention it.. I don't think there's a wall left in the toilets there, After your Stella drinking sesh!! You know what I mean!! Phaaaaarrrrrpppp Spplutterrrr!!!...[:I][:0]

Take it easy mate & don't you worry, There WILL be a rematch with the old 4WD's[;)]

Heh heh, rematch - I'm up for that. Don't get any funny ideas into your heads though - my Thundershot WILL paste you both AGAIN [;)] Even if I have to put a brushless with 32 cells in it [xx(]

Still got to rebuild the gearbox on my poor Blackfoot now, actually, after that gruelling offroad race I bet we all do...! Next time I think I'll bring the King Blackfoot or perhaps the Bush Devil with the newer rear suspension / gearbox design. Obviously I'll run that 11x2 and a 'kin big wheelie bar [;)]

The camaraderie in the pits was fantastic and the help I got from you guys with loaned crystals and others bits was second to none and greatly appreciated.

Definitely up for a razz at Clumber Moosey...! Cobble it together with a ruby and a few pints and it's all sounding rather good. Capitol idea old bean [:D]

Mate a few beers & a curry followed by a blast with the Tamiyas the next day, Sounds like a heavenly event!![:D][:D][:P]

On another note, I think now were all getting to know one another with these 'meets' It just gets better & better!![:)]

Also Roop, Those pics of yours are 'UNREAL' Can't believe how good they are![:P][:D][:P]

Keep up the good work with that site.

Moosey.

Moosey,[:(][:I] thanks for bringing that up, mind you with all that laughing you managed a fair few yourself[;)].

Roop those pics are amazing, cant wait to have another bash with the hotshot, boomerang and thundershot again, will have to get a technigold inot the poor hotshot though she wasnt quite quick enough.

And the Blackfoot, well the sunday on road race killed my poor blackfoot, the gearbox is sitting at some strange angle, time for a full strip down.[:(]

And I have to say that little thing i raced your subaru with is unfortunately not mine its Captains, Its a HPI micro RS4 with a graupner speed 300 motor(much bigger than it was originally designed for)

Well we (Ryan, juliet, AndyP and Me) had a great time, It was good to see so many of the faces from clumber , It was a shame Stulec wasn't there but canada is a long way !

We all met the elusive frazer smith (nice guy) and probably spent too much money with the various money removal units scattered around (gunpowder & UKstyle !!!!!!)[:D],

I came back with all my cars still working although the egress needed a big rebuild during sunday due to a bit of non-driving on my part [:0]. Even AndyP didnt manage to wreck his mini which was a miracle .

Many thanks to all who had a hand in setting it all up , It may not have felt quite as personal as clumber but I dont think it was ever going to , I for one think an element of disorganisation is a good thing , after all everybody gets sick of regimentation every day at work but there is room for improvement and maybe some sort of timetable would be a good thing .

I still cant get the picture of Andy's mini turning into a football out of my head .

LMAO, you can see on one of the pics, he's not far behind my tourer on the first corner, and my tourer had a 13 turn motor in it[:0]

LOL, I looked at biggus funny when he asked to race it, and he said, well they didn't specify what scale tourers[:P]

Captain, That little HPI is a BEAST! I was amazed when I saw it flying round the track for the first time!![:0]

Biggus was really giving it what for with that little baby! Giving me a run for my money, Which I loved!!![:D][:D]

Would be good with a few of those on the track[;)]

I think going back over the weekend, I had the most fun with Biggus![;)][:D]

So a BIG THANKYOU mate for the racing![:D][:P][;)]

Hi all again [:)]

I can honestly say that i had a cracking time and did some good trading. Cheers to Andy P for the mini decals and wishbones and Alan for the mega cheap Ralph F2,and swapping my yokomo for Chris's VW beetle and Good to put a face to Fraiser after all this time.

Someone mentioned the hole been put in the off road jump [:I] Er that could have been me with the marder after a nasty jump but it did look good [:D]

Great to see UK Style and Gunpowder 17 thanks to you both and I still don't know how Andrew talked me in to the King tiger tank but i am very pleased with it[:P]

You lot must check out Roop's site (wireless) for the stunning Pics that he and Claire took FAB :0)

Almost forgot the star of the weekend has to go to ALan cos this top bloke brought the milk that me and Moosey forgot, so, CHEERS:0)
