Kyosho RB 7.5 - 2wd competition buggy coming?

Recommended Posts

The RB7 earned 1st place and TQ in the 2WD class at the 2013 IFMAR Electric Off-Road World Championship. A credible source (Mark Headling) has posted that the new Kyosho RB7.5 2wd competition buggy is on its way.

This would be amazing if this is true. Staying true to Kyosho's line of 2wd championship heritage.

Would be cool to have another competition buggy to choose from. Seems a bit odd to update an older design though, rather than make a new RB8?

Yeah, I don't know the details. We'll see how this plays out

Nice, looking forward to seeing this if true.

I suppose this is about something else?

That looks like an on-road car. Hmm. I haven't seen a competitive 1/10 on-road electric since the KX-One from the early 2k's.

It’s definitely on the way.

Great to have another choice, hopefully the price point will be more LD3 than XB2…

Looks good, and competitively priced if around £375 when considering the std fitment of CF battery tray, alloy pivot block, bellcranks, rear hubs and camberlink mounts. All optional extras from the usual names.

All a very similar format these days but will still be nice to have something new to build. I feel the bank balance taking another battering soon !!

They really should have given it an easy access rear differential like all competitors other than Losi which is also a tired design not having easy access differential.  AE had it starting with B6.1, XRAY, Schumcher etc all have it too.  Makes a big difference in quick diff fluid changes or sorting a problem inside gearbox out quickly.

That aside, basic formula seems like most of them now and I am sure is competitive lap time wise.

The original RB7 wasn't hard to access the differentials so for me, it's not a big deal.

I stopped at the RB6.6 so maybe it was a bit different.  Then I had a AE B6.1, which was like 4 screws and out.   I'll have to look at manual, what has to be removed.  Are we talking a few screws and turnbuckles.  The Losi 22 5.0 is a real pain, like the entire back half of the car.
