So earlier today, I dug out some old parts that more or less made a Lunchbox chassis, with no real goal in mind. My wife wanted to go to lunch, so we went, and when we came back, I felt like going for a quick RC spin. I looked at the pile of Lunchbox parts, and wondered, "Can I assemble those into a complete functional vehicle in the time it takes to charge a 3000 mAh NiMH pack?"

As it turns out, yes.

But I didn't have any suitable-size bodies for it. What I did have, though, were a few beat-up touring and drift bodies. This Datsun 510 wagon looked like it could be shortened quickly and easily:

Yeah, it looks goofy, but it's sort of charming too. I have other ideas for later, but I wanted to get something on it for now.

I finished up about two minutes before the pack peaked, stuck it into the chassis, found a battery adapter because I haven't changed the plug on the ESC I chose yet, and went out to my test track.

Yep, it's a Lunchbox.

Once again, I have so much more fun with the cheap old junk than I do with the expensive builds. So I guess that means there's no point in bothering with the expensive builds anymore.
