New Clodbuster and Servo Saver

I have just finished my new Clodbuster and I think it's turned out pretty nice. The main difference is that it is painted in matt black (and I haven't used all of the decals) which looks really good.

It is upgraded with Yeah Racing shocks, UK Monsters 'Lift Kit' and UK Monsters steering arms, front servo mount and bumper.

Despite having the UK Monsters axle mount and steering links, the front steering has very little travel. Without the rear steering turned on (I have separate servos front and back) it would hardly turn at all. The setup at the front is all very solid so I can only assume that the problem is with the servo saver. This is a Tamiya Hi-Torque servo saver with a Core RC metal arm.

Does anyone have recommendations for a stiffer servo saver? I'm considering removing it altogether and just using a metal arm on the servo, but if there is a more suitable servo saver then I'd been keen to try that first.

Maybe a servo saver for a Losi Lmt wil work, aftermarket or stock, it that is a big heavy tire monster truck.

and they are adjustable.

I use the heavy duty GPM one on my Mod Clod and it’s been great so far, a few rollovers and bumps and working fine.
 

The LMT one should work well too I’d think.
 

I’ve tried the large gas Kimborough but wasn’t overly impressed, it was better but still a bit soft.

I run an aluminum clamping servo horn on my clod buster. I've not had any issues, but I do not have a lot of run time on it yet.

I use an aluminum clamping arm.  Make sure the servo has metal gears and plenty of torque.  Once you commit to that you accept the servos may be a wear item if you like to run into things at speed though. Remember, a longer arm will give more throw, but the clod knuckles don't have a lot of steering angle.

Any updates? May I ask which servo would be sufficient for the Clod Buster?

One with metal gears of course, but would my 14 kg standard servo which I have in almost every car (Injora INJS014) be enough or is it better to upgrade to an INJS035 (35 kg)? I don't plan to use any servo savers at all (no risk, no fun! ;))…

I run an injora 35kg on my clod with an aluminum clamping servo horn with no issues.

I use a PowerHD 20kg but find it’s a touch slow. I use the GPM Heavy Duty saver and it’s been fine, solid horns don’t really forgive my clumsy driving moments.

Some say,......a stock Clodbuster doesn't steer, if it wants to go left it pushes the world right and vice versa. Also that it doesn't need to steer because it can drive over anything in its way. 

All we know is that it's called the Clodbuster,

 

Edit to add,

I think I was using the Tamiya hi torque servo savers but found them to be quite brittle and broke the horns regularly.
