There’s a few different light systems available for what you want, some are plain LEDs that are on and others do the brakes and blinkers, they will read the esc and steering channels and light things up depending on the inputs.

Theres some cheap Chinese type light systems and some more quality from the likes of MyTrickRC and Boom Racing amongst others. I’ve got a Boom Racing one on my Trail Finder 2. Lots of options and maybe more than your after.

Not on a TT-02, but on a M-05Ra I use this cheap Aliexpress unit. Headlights, position lights, signal when turning, brake light and reverse lights.

On my Cen Jimny, I use this Killerbody unit. Instructions listing out the features here

Lights are easy, it is dealing with the mess of wires that's the difficult part.

Have installed a few of those light controller kits from Common sense RC, but some other brands are the same thing. The instructions are all the same with mostly useless info because nothing works the way they say it does and you have to spend extra time figuring things out just so everything will function correctly. At least it's cheap, lol.

Been there a few times! Annoying to say the least

I have had the best luck with the simple  cheap 8 lens going to one plug from Amazon.  There are 4 white and 4 red, cut off the ones you don't want.  Have that aet in the bt01 and kyosho fazer. Not brake function, but simple.

The tamiya controller for trucks was just frustrating, I gave up on it.

Thos Pic was when first test fitting, have blacked out the inside better since then.

I have a set like this too, nice and simple as you said 4 white and 4 red with a single plug.

I also added a remote on/off switch, so the lights can be activated from the controller.

I have been watching videos on various cheap LED systems and some of them have weird lighting patterns.

The one I went for in the end was the Dumbo RC FZD. It's cheap so clearly isn't perfect, but after a while of tinkering with it I'm quite happy. I have a 4 channel transmitter/receiver on my model so I can switch the headlights on/off and activate the hazard warning lights, as well as indicators and a basic brake light.

@Pintopower has a series of light controller reviews on his Ampro Engineering YouTube channel. Most of the units in this thread are covered. In addition, anyone using Flysky ANT protocol TX/RX, they have both a receiver and an ESC receiver combo with built in light controllers.

SQ1-1 Controller with some of their low powered LED. Best in the business. Or the Dragon controller if you also want to use high powered/nighttime LEDs. Never tried there UF-C unit, but lots of people like those as well

SQ-1 Controller – MyTrickRC

LEDs – MyTrickRC

I order through Amain to get 10% off and points. Last order was for $800 in my trick lights. I need help. They have some wicked high-powered units that work amazing at night

Most other light systems are too fiddly for me, these just work and you pay for that

Thank you, What would you recommend for Led's for my Ford GT MK II. Sorry for the silly question new to the Hobby.

Did you want old school looking halogen (more yellow) colored headlights or modern white? And did you need functioning brake lights? It's like $20 more for that option

Looks like that body might not have LED ready light buckets and you might have to drill some small holes if you want to add lighting

Features:

  • Wing stay with optional wings sold separately
  • 3D Polycarbonate light buckets (Not compatible with LEDs)
  • Compatible with TT-01, TT-01 Type-E, TT-02
  • Dimpled to fit TB-05 PRO, TA06, TA07 PRO, TA08 PRO and TC-01 chassis cars which are 257mm wheelbase

Now i don't recall where i found that info

Without light buckets you may just want to drill small holes in the body and use 3mm LEDs

#1- Easiest and cheapest

SQ-1 Controller – MyTrickRC

 Dual 3mm LEDs – MyTrickRC

Dual 3mm LEDs – MyTrickRC

#2- Might require more work and can be used for nighttime driving

DG-1 Dragon Controller – MyTrickRC

Attack 27mm LED Strip Lights – MyTrickRC- MIght be cool option for headlights

Attack 17mm Halo Headlights – MyTrickRC- I think these might fit as taillights if you got the red option and i think you can still run them off low powered port for use as taillights.

Attack Headlights – MyTrickRC- I use these headlights alot and just drill a small 2mm-3mm hole in the body and use hot glue on the backside to keep them in place. Them come with adhesive stickers to keep them in place as well if you don;t want to use hot glue

Hi, I went to order from this company and upon checking out a note appears the do not ship to Canada. Have you heard of this before?  Most disappointing  . Regards Mike

That doesn't seem right. Maybe sending a quick note to the owner to see if there is a way around that

I recently installed a very simple light unit:

Independently powered LEDs

The button cells can supply four white and four red LEDs or whatever you like.

That is actually a great solution to the wire spaghetti with LED running off the receiver, if you just want lights with no additional functionality.

I did't think so I sent a message but the owner is very slow in responding   but ordered what you recommended from A Main hobbies. Thanks again for the advice Cheers Mike.
