I usually like to charge my batteries at 3/4 or less than the stated charging rate of 1C. I have a battery that says 2C charging capable, but I don't think I want to do that. I'm not one who has to get them charged instantly I'm fine with sitting in a chair, taking a nap waiting for batteries to charge. I just feel I'm killing battery life charging at full rate or twice the rate.

Anyone notice battery life shortage while charging at 2C?

I may try and do some 2C charging and see what happens....I'm always experimenting.

I have a Zippy 4000mah rated at 3C charge rate.

That is 12A but I do not have a charger that is 12A able, but had charged it at 6A (1.5C) and had not noticed any problems.

The thing is, do you believe the manufacturer's specs which states the C that the battery can take, or internet "experts" that say you must charge at no more than 1C?

I usually charge at 1C and find that's not a problem.  Most of my LiPos are pretty old now, they can take a while to balance (in fact I often stop charge once they're mostly there as it can time out trying to get the final balance right) but they'll still last a couple of race heats or plenty of time bashing in the garden.  And I'm getting over 4 miles out of my 3S walking batteries despite a very heavy rig and over 2A of torches on the roof.

On rare occasions I charge at 2C - mostly when I decide last minute to go walking and I have limited time to get to the hills before I run out of daylight.

Most of my lipos are four or five years old, and I never charge at less than 2C. If it shortens life, it can’t be by much.

I sure some lipos are now advised at being able to charge a 5C!! 🫣

Most of my race liHv batteries say upto 3C, but I charge at 1C, and only go higher if I'm running late for a final.

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?
