That's a seriously good price for the RS. Everyone in the UK thinking about getting a rally car can easily pull the trigger now. The XV-02 is the future (even though I love my XV-01) and this is even the better one of them.

That’s looks like a very nice piece of kit.

Is there just the one XV-02 variant?

How would you increase the ground clearance for off roading?

I can see there’s a more rally based model - Pro with greater ground clearance, but quite a lot higher in price @ £329.00

There is the normally cheaper XV-02 Pro as well with taller ground clearance. The thing is that the RS pro has the stiffer reinforced chassis and I think you get the taller shock towers on the sprue of the RS Pro, so it's simple to convert the RS Pro for both applications than the Pro. You simply get more of the good stuff with the RS Pro.

Normally the normal Pro is a good bit cheaper, so this offer is really good as I see it.

I guess then after that the difference between the kits, the are tyres and shocks?
Just found the existing excellent TC thread - which tells me what I wanted to know 👍

As far as I know that should sum it up, yes.

What is the RS actually for? Is the intention that it’s a road going version of the ‘02 for TC racing or is it still ‘rally’ but tarmac rally not dirt?

they did something similar with the ‘01 which looked TC not rally.

According to the description:

"The XV-02 RS chassis is an on-road variant of the rally XV-02 platform. The kit is mainly oriented for on-road, and features updates such as..."

Shock cylinders

Shocks rods

Chassis cover

Wheels & tyres.

These are the differences.

@Andreas W is also correct about the Pro shock towers being included in RS kit.

One thing more: The RS comes without the chassis cover.

These are Offer of the week (24/03) at Tamico as well now…

I already have one myself & love it.

Just watch the tiny hex screws assembling the Diffs as the heads strip easily, highly recommend a thread former for those.

I hope not, I’d like to think that it’s more to do with demand dropping off in the hobby and suppliers getting back on line more since the big C.
