There are two or three portacabins around the track each with several double mains sockets in them which can be used. These are open 24hrs a day.

When we went to spectate at the Tamiya Eurocup last year, the "offroad track" appeared to be a rectangle of grass with a ditch in it for a jump. And that's about it.

I'm sure that with the addition of some cones/rope/firehose/ramps we could put together a reasonable offroad circuit though. If enough of us can bring a lump of ply and a couple of bricks/block of wood for makeshift ramps, then we should be able to sort out a bashing track.

I want something to test my new Twin Detonator on [8D]

Jozza the track last year was pretty much unusable for anything but FG marders and the 4wd Monster trucks (the like of TXT, CLods, Juggs etc) Saying that the off road buggies racing on the on road track was great fun [;)]

Rich is right, the track was very rough, bit like an over grown building site, there where big rocks all over.

I endend up bending the chassis on my Marder after hitting the jump wrong and taking three breeze blocks out of the wall!! Volksrod smashed his engine casing as well on his Marder! [:0]

Yes, the off road track is still unfinished. Weather permitting I'll try and get the grass cut, but it is usuable. Please remember that Snetterton is primarily an on-road track, the off road is there only for a bit of fun. I'm hoping this year to finally get it finished, again time and weather permitting.

It would be appreciated if you could get the grass cut smmcc, then we can put ramps/ropes whatever on there for an offroad course. There should be enough free frequencies to run offroads at the same time as onroads, then we can fit twice the fun into the time we've got!

Posted

I think we should stick to one track at a time, things will get too confusing and doubles the chances for frequency clashes, last thing we want to do is damage our precious cars.

Fair point Biggus, I'm just letting the excitement get to me [:D] I suppose that even with the pegboard it could be difficult getting pegs from one side to t'other.

[|)] hey some one say snett again lol

i know i said i woudn't travel there again but i'm thinking about it after reading through this post, i've moved house this year and snetterton is an extra 30+ mile away from me this time round thats adding an extra 35 to 40 minutes driving time to my trip as for speed traps/cameras yes there are a lot of them on the way there and some you can't see till last minute so watch out unless you have a snooper lol

i'm hoping to be there this year but not sure as what i'd take as most of my kit is still packed and i sill have a lot of projects to get finished, so if i can't make snett i will be at the summer Drive (more info needed) and some where central as i don't want to be driving for hours[:(]

Surely since there will be many of us, if we all do 1hr`s work on the off road track we can improve it significantly? if there are rocks and such we can pick them up, and SMCC as long as a mower and shovel is available we can improve it[:D]?

I don't want to be a pain, and realise the on road track is great but I would really like to be abl;e to use the off road track for the 1/10 buggies without feeling like going over a dry river bed? Especially since I am spending hours trying to get a rough rider going in time..

I agree with Vintage Jack on that; if enough of us would like & be able to use the offroad track, we should be able to get some sort of course together.. A lot depends on how many races are to be held on the main track, and what sort of state the offroad area is in, but I'm sure we could sort something out. I think we'll just have to see how it works out on the weekend, but I would like to give the buggies and truck a run offroad with others if there's enough interest.

Doing a bit of work on the track sounds like a great idea, I would happily help. Can't see the guy at SMMC complaining, after all we're saving him a job, lol.

Well after much looking and phone calls I was beginning to think I was gonna have to rough it and sleep in a cold tent!!

But today the gods have smiled on me, whilst looking at autoroute to plan the best way to get to snetterton i noticed a little blue box just outside of attleborough just off the A11 so i clicked it and its a hotel which i hadn't rang so i rang it and they have rooms!!

So I booked a single room en-suite £40 inc breakfast!!

Whilst talking to the lady on the phone I asked about other rooms and she said yes we still have a few spare!!

So here's the details in case anyone still needs somewhere...

Sherborne Country House Hotel,

8 Norwich Road,

Attleborough.

Tel No. 01953 454363

Hope that helps someone!!
