In an effort to keep from buying more stuff, I've been inventorying what I already have, and dividing models up in a new way. Instead of shelfers, runners, etc, I'm dividing them this way.

Keep and enjoy as they are:

modified Bruiser, MRC MT-10M, new-built Grasshopper, restored Lunchbox, restored Boomerang, Midnight Pumpkin, MRC Q-Tee Coupe, restored Kyosho Optima, Kyosho Progress, Bolink Digger 10, Futaba FX-10, modified Striker, Honda City Turbo, restored Blackfoot, restomod Mud Blaster, Radio Shack Car Crusher II, Kyosho Hi-Rider Vette, Kyosho Raider, Kyosho Ultima, Cox Bandido, RC10 6-gear, RC10 Graphite, RC10T, RC10LSO, Traxxas Hawk, Kyosho Scorpion re-re, FF-01, TA02 Lancia 037, homemade Land Rover scaler

Can modify, but keep the original spirit/feel/basic structure intact:

Clod Buster, Wild Willy 2, Fast Attack Vehicle, DT02 Sand Rover, restomod Kyosho Javelin, King Yellow, restomod Pajero, CC01 Pajero, CEN Q-series Fiat, Traxxas Stampede, ECX Barrage, Kyosho Turbo Optima re-re, Bigwig re-re

Fair game to mess with/modify/experiment with:

Grasshopper (x2), Grasshopper II, Hornet, Lunchbox (x2), Frog, MF-01X (x2), Hornet Evo (more on this soon!), TT02, Kyosho Fazer, Carisma SCA-1E scaler, RJ Speed Sportsman, Traxxas Sledgehammer parts, scaler chassis/axles/gearboxes (enough for 2-3 chassis), Bolink Digger/Legend parts, TamTech Gear cars and parts

Next step: physically rearranging my workshop to sort cars into those categories. That'll be interesting. I have no room out there anymore. I also want to figure out a photo/video setup, and get good action shots and running video of everything. Haven't decided yet if I'll just use youtube/instagram/etc to show them off, or set up my own site.

Posts like this make me happy as I realize I have a far fewer cars than some (although I just counted 21 runners or direct WIPs)

I've done similar things - where I've tried to go back and fix all the cars I own before getting anything new.

Let us know how you get on!

I've been doing something similar where I've been trying to find hop-ups for some of my cars. I've been on a carbon fiber kick. For example, if a carbon fiber shock tower was available, I'm trying to source it and modify the car. Good luck on your endeavors!

Let’s see some before and after photos. I love a good workshop set of pictures!

I'm stacking up things needed to be painted.  So of course now I'll suddenly 'find' pre-painted kits... Did a project inventory and just ordered about 25 cans of paint yesterday and saw a Grasshopper II candy green for a good price, ding!  B)  What will be finished first...

Ask and ye shall receive...

Here is the big shelving unit where most of the current runners live. Ignore the derelict MGB; it's in the process of having its clutch hydraulics replaced.

Here's the shelf from the other side.

The workbench. This actually goes along this entire wall of the garage, 24 feet long. I love it.

The shelf above the workbench, with dead transmitters mounted to the wall above it. They're good for display, anyway,

Here's the paint booth, at the other end of the long bench. It has a huge exhaust fan, I just have to open the window and it sucks the fumes out.

The shelves above the paint booth, mostly filled with boxes of parts. This stuff REALLY needs sorting and organizing.

There are also several totes and those rolling plastic drawer thingies underneath the workbench. Like I said - it's cluttered. But I kinda love it.

That's an awesome set up!!

I've got a ducted fan out of a bathroom sat waiting (a project to do projects 🤦‍♂️) to rig up something similar..

Hard to ignore a classic MGB!

That’s really lovely, like a production line, from chassis building,to body painting.

You have a great space, I am sure many happy hours are spent there!

Looks like an awesome place to build. My build space is the kitchen table and the most of my cars have to live in the loft. And everything needs to be packed away before the morning with a rampaging toddler!
