Now that most of the tamiya releases for 2025 have been announced what are people planning on getting?

For me I'm eyeing up...

  • M07R - I don't need it however I might as well complete my FWD m chassis collection 🤣
  • MB01 mini cooper - I'm in two minds about this one as I expect a Monte Carlo mini will be released at some point soon and I'm not a fan of the MB01 chassis.
  • DT04 - some people aren't a big fan of the cage look however I really dig it, it looks like a mini Baja buggy.

Tamiya MB01 mini perhaps, I own an MB01 already but its a rear wheel drive set up. A squash van if they lower the price.

Kyosho Mad Van: It's just fantastic and I want one.

Gorgon will get 3s power by the Autumn.

This really is tickling my fancy... https://www.applianceelectronics.co.uk/viewproduct/19530/tamiya-ford-f350-high-lift-tam58372?source=Adwords&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADpHMMsOZFOLrbxQFWb9VKoKlm1bJ&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzZev9NTzjAMVdJhQBh35WQglEAQYAiABEgKx4fD_BwE

I'm planning on selling a few, I have some cars that I really don't do anything with or have the desire to put up with. Plus, I need more room for new more exciting projects.

Done my most of my major shopping* for 2025, and probably 2026 as well. Making up a list for 2027.

Something I don’t have to wait several months for, after release has been announced. Always gets exited, when announces are made, but tends to loose interest, when I have to wait half a year to get it 🙁.

Anyway guess the Bigwig will come back in the collection. Would live to find a Trf 4wd buggy as well.

Nothing currently announced is on my list for this year.  So I'm waiting on any new announcements from Tamiya, Kyosho or Schumacher.

Well so far I've knocked off a couple NXGENs from the list, as well as the Porsche 911 GT3 R. My wishlist as of now is:

58527 - The Hornet by Jun Watanabe
58611 - Honda City Turbo
58746 - Peugeot 306 Maxi
58747 - Mini Cooper Racing
58748 - Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V

Maybe: 47518 - Mazda 787B

All in all I am happy with my equipment and I already have 2 competent cars waiting to be built (I'll wait until the garage is finished,  so it's gonna be for next year), so no need to buy any more for now.

The only thing I'll get in 2025 apart from consumables is a Lapmonitor.

I have been mostly selling under used biggies and cars recently. Picked up a BBX when said sales raised more money more quickly than expected, which means I won't be getting a DT04.

I keep flip flopping on a Hornet Evo, or some of "my version of the Hornet evo", but maybe later in the year.

 MB01 mini cooper

at least one. Going to paint to match my 1:1. Single color will be a cinch.

Then all I need to do is find a set of Tamiya black alloys (at least I remember black being an option) from the 90s… easier (any possibly cheaper) to get a 1:1 set of Minilites.

I will take two of the BullHead Re-release coming at the end of the...

... Wait, someone tells me in my ear that it's not re-released.

Nothing specific is on my list.  Money was already going to be tighter than usual this year for various factors, and now my wife has switched to a lower-paying career so I have to personally fund some things that previously came from the joint account.

That said, things I would like, if the cash allows:

Squash Van - loved this when it was announced and I'm sure it will be a hoot in the garden

Mercedes C11 - almost hit the BIN on one of these several times over the last couple of years.  I thought we were going to use this for an endurance series, but that never happened.  I literally have nowhere to run it - no tarmac tracks near me, no clubs run them, so it would be a shelfer unless someone organises a one-off race meet.  But I still want one.

I'm sure there's millions of other cars that I'd like, I just can't think of them right now.

Hoping to get back to the track, so probably a Schumacher LD3, and give my daughter my Laydown.

And if Kyosho bring out a Mid Custom,  then...🙄

For me only the Mini cooper bodyset once it gets released without a chassis and if possible the Porsche GT3 R bodyset. No need for a TT-02 or MB-01.

The two kits I'll be building this year is the DT-04 and Kyosho Dune Master. I've got three or four cars that need some new bits fitting on etc, and a few things to build & paint for my scale garage so that will keep me busy. My main aim for this year is to get out and use them more. Especially my BBX, which is currently my favourite runner.

Unfortunately nothing from tamiya although might have myself a Honda city turbo because I enjoyed building the first re-release a few years ago I’ll see how I feel when it arrives!
I’ve spent way to much this year and its only early April so other than the RC10 metallic edition which I pre ordered (if i hadn’t I probably wouldn’t have bothered) nothing is on the list for the rest of the year^_^ I managed to find a couple of Rc’s that I sold about 12 years ago because of lack of space and massive house renovations and I always said when the time was right I’d hunt them down but unbelievably they turned up practically the same time so that’s wiped me out for the next year!

both mint and unused:wub:

Nothing from tamiya on my list, now not owning any tamiya's, it would have to be an amazing release to consider it for the list.

Scale indoor driving with a WPL

Rally car purchase from HNR

These are the two next to arrive

Why no Tamiyas? What release from Tamiya would make you purchase it?

Something bigger scale.

Most of my collection is 1/8 scale which offers me a far superior driving experience.

Unfortunately if tamiya offered such a model, I don't think they could price it competitively but it would certainly gain my interest

I've kinda done my shopping for the year, I am restricting 2025 to just this;

But if I find a good deal on a used Falcon or Dynahead in ok condition then I might consider those too.  And maybe a Jun Watanabe Hornet that's due for release this year, but that depends on the price because I'm on the fence with that one.

I plan to get a Tamiya rally car kit of some sort, some rebuildable 27T motors for my clod, a new shell for my stampede along with some paddle tires and a few misc hop ups. My R/C collection is pretty much as big as I can afford/have room for. And I am happy with what I have. Tamiya kits are a blast to build drive and tinker with :D

that said I can probably still find somewhere for a lunchbox lol
