I expect this year's Spring Drive to be even busier that last years. Despite the organisation of events prior to the weekend's activities and with the best will in the World, there's going to be a bit of fouling up on 27MHz so I was planning on buying a 40 combo and a couple of sets of Xtals to help me run and free up a 27 place in a few races for others.

Just so I don't go and buy sets that people already are planning to use - Who is going to be on 40MHz at Snet and what's your actual frequency...?

Thanks in advance,

Roop

I have only got 27 mhz, but i've got lots of crystals. My only main concern is my Sand Scorcher's frequency is Blue, that is the only one thats a nightmare to change, if anyone else is looking to run Blue in their SRB let me know, i missed out racing mine at Clumber because of a crystal clash.

I'm on 40Mhz too, 40.675 and 40.825 although I may not get to snetterton as our baby is due just about then, will have to wait until the summer meets.....

It goes without saying that you can't use 40MHz Xtals in a 27MHz system and vice-versa. Sorry if this sounds patronizing, but I though I'd better mention it just in case...!

Sorry, a little of topic but how much does a set of Xtals actually cost???

40.675, 40.795 and 40.705 for me, and any 27 apart from yellow cos our yellow crystal set is not working.

(That's assuming I've got the 40 meg receivers into my cars by then!)

TamiyaUK this thread starts with regards to people using 40fm, some others have mentioned 27, but is anyone using 40 AM?

One other point Quincy 35mhz is for aircraft use only. 27 and 40 is set aside for land use (whether that be car, bike, boat or train)

sorry yeah thats me just reading the last few replies,

I have ;-

40.955

40.825

40.775

40.715

40.785

40.665

40.675

40.695

and all of the 27 Mhz solids inc. black, but I don't bother with splits as they are very dodgy and you are best just reversing bands so you can have 12/14 car races rather than using splits.

I've checked it out, and I can confirm that is the case, a 40meg AM transmitter will interfere with a 40MHz FM or 40MHz PCM one on the same crystal. (The best link I can find is a Google search, http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&ie=UT...interfere&meta= which brings up the information on a cached page, but my local car club organiser confirms this too, so I assume it's correct).

Ah, just found another, it's about boats but confirms the same info: http://www.ann-neil.supanet.com/What%20happens.pdf (See page 13)

yup the AM wouldnt be demodulated by the FM and vice versa, but you would still have a signal of sorts.... which would cause rather a nasty pile up methinks [:(] as long as it's not in my race i dont care....[:P]

Guys. Snetterton run a peg board system. Each 27MHz & 40Mhz frequency has been allocated a peg with a label attached. When you want to use a particular frequency check the board if the peg is missing its being used. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN IS THAT AFTER EACH RUN THE PERSON USING THE PEG RETURNS IT TO THE PEG BOARD SO ANOTHER PERSON CAN USE IT. The system does work but if people wander off with the peg and don't return it the whole system gets screwed up. It's up to you guys on the day to keep the system running smoothly.

Cool, I like pegboards [^]

The only problem with them is that some of the dumwits at our touring car club seem to find the concept confusing [:(!]. Still, I'm sure that won't be the case with TC members, I'm sure we're all intelligent enough to use the facility.
