Hello everyone! I figured I would make my second post here on the "The Builds" forum. I received a Super Clod Buster yesterday and I thought it would be great to share the build with you all. I also bought a spare body and have already started prepping it for paint, I am just not sure how I want to paint it yet. A lot of parts will be changed, so this may take awhile. I look forward to sharing the build process with everyone!

Body prep started today. I have always noticed the small plus sign shaped indents on the hood and I did not want them to show up in the paint. So I just put some glazing putty and sanded them down. I did go a little heavy which required more sanding. You can better see them now with the putty in there. I know it's just a little thing but I want this paint work to come out really good. Body will be sanded with 800 and then I will put the primer on.

I started making some racing stripe decals for the second body while I wait for my paint to arrive. Still kind of on the fence bout it. Black and yellow will not be the colors, It's just the color of the stock body and my vinyl material.

Let me know your thoughts on it.

I like it, but as the stripes are so wide, maybe one (asymmetrically, like on the roof) would be enough?

Ill have to try that out and see how it looks, thank you.

Here are two more versions. I did not do the roof this time because the pieces that I had left were only enough to try on the hood twice and I did not feel like making any more tonight lol.

Okay, I think asymmetrically does not really work with this kind of stripe. Maybe a plain stripe?

Centered is better, but it conflicts with the blower area – should be wider or do a curve to get wider at that area.

What do you think?

I agree, I will also try smaller stripes and see how that looks.

I am also thinking a larger stripe centered down the hood that flows all the past the grill.

New chassis arrived today from Mechuna Precision Components along with a full bearing set. This chassis is milled aluminum and it is amazing and the craftsmanship is incredible! This is the stock length version, I also have a long wheel base version coming. The first parts from Hot-Racing arrived a few days ago.

Long wheel base chassis and screw tray arrived today from Mechuna and they look great. This is a custom numbered chassis. Name was CNCed in and then  bead blasted. Started doing the few things I can now while I wait for a few more parts to arrive.
