It's great to see that the model scene is picking up again, there used to be exhibitions like this when it was big in the '80s. I'm going to the show, perhaps it would be good to arrange a meet-up with TC members on one of the days. I see that Tamiya are now on the list of exhibitors too, wonder if it will be possible to pick up one of the new Gravel Hounds by then [?]

What sort of discount do you get when buying 10 tickets? Couldn't find any detail on the website.

I just won a free ticket in the monthly draw for tickets. Hurrah. So that's about a tenner saved, means I can spend another £100 on r/c toys by my reckoning []

Me and another lad are going on the saturday, so will be around the tamiya stand at lunch if anyone else about, look out for one 6ft giant and a 5ft hairy guy (I'm the hairy one).

Looks like there might be a few of us then [8D] Will head for the Tamiya stand 1-ish (gangly bloke with a beard and a young lad probably in a hoody - he usually is!)

FYI, if anyone is considering going on the train, there are engineering works in the area this weekend so trains from the south will spit you out at Leamington to get a bus to the NEC [!] Oh, and parking is £6 according to the folks at the NEC enquiry line.

I was going to catch a train, and then looked on trainline, which made the journey from London 3 hours 5 mins [] so I'm driving from Essex instead. I'll be there on the Sat, will loiter around the Tamiya stand at 1pm to meet up. I'll be sporting jeans, t-shirt, Tamiyaclub sticker and lots of bags full of goodies + a tired credit card []

Well, it wasn't quite the mass meet-up that we were expecting, but good to see Twinset (the disguise didn't work mate []), Wireless and Claire at the show. Also saw Bugsy and Moosey but didn't get a chance to say hello.

Matt (Fury minor) and I had a good mooch round and saw quite a bit of indoor flying as well as 1/10th and 1/12th saloons, 1/12 stocks and buggies on the indoor track. I'm not a huge fan of 1/10th tourers but watching Craig Drescher drive was breathtaking. Outdoor highlights were the heli aerobatics and a group of Marders (or similar?)struggling for traction on a wet track - noisy and hilarious! Biggest disappointmemt was that the awesome gas-turbine fighters didn't get flown.

Exhibit wise it was a bit disappointing; Tamiya had the Touareg and the new TB02 Porsche (gorgeous shell) but no Gravel Hound [V]. My lad fell in love with the Losi Mini-T, which could get pricey! Car-wise, the emphasis was very much on RTR Nitro big-wheelers which ain't really my thing. All in all, a good day out though [8D]
