How do you fit a SS body to a SC chassis?

If anyone knows please enlighten me.

It looks to me, that a SS style front body post has to be fabricated to fit on the existing SC body post?

And for back end, the SS rear engine lid needs to be cut away so it fits over the SC suspension?

I didn't use a rear cage or the stock reservoir/damper set-up but I didn't need to trim the body.

I’ve admired this many times @Saito2, in my mind it combines the best combination of 2 models.

A while ago I made a hybrid that could take either a Super Champ or Scorcher body. It had a Scorcher gearbox and roll bar but a Fighting buggy chassis and front end. I had an aluminium post cut that sat over the shorter FB one and clipped on with a body clip.

No Mr. Pants, in those days I was a builder only with about 50 projects on the go. It is one of those projects that I massively regret selling. In fact I have been working on a Scorcher body, thinning the fenders etc, with a view to doing it again. I have an RCChannel suspension set that I held onto for the FB and want to use that.

One thing to note is that I had a Scorcher gearbox and roll bar which was compatible with the FB body, but I never tried it the other way around with a FB mono shock and roll bar combined with t a Scorcher body.

I wondered if the Vintage SS front body post would fit on a Fighting Buggy post like it did on the OJ Buggy Champ to take a SS body, so I tried it on mine, yes it sort of fitted but the SS body sat higher up by about 10-12mm

So I’m wondering if it’s easier to fit a SC rear end onto a SS chassis, like the one @toyolien linked to as it has the SS servo saver and body post on the front end and also the right size rear mount roll bar?

I don’t know what front body post @Saito2 has on his?

I think the SS shell will need some trimming at the rear and then strengthening to make it robust to fit over the Super Champ rear end.

Ive not done it with a Sand Scorcher, but i did the Subaru Brat conversion. I found that the original Sand scorcher body pin, was a tight interference fit on top of the Super Champ mount, so i pressed it on. I didnt need to fix it in any other way.
