What car and setup would one choose if planning to race a squirrel?

Hmm ... good question. A Grasshopper, perhaps: bouncy. Put in a 540 motor and you'll be all over the place, like most squirrels.

The Hornet, hands down. Makes for a perfecy fair race with a squirrel on meadowy/grassy terrain, did that many times

Squirrels may race Hornets, but chipmunks are on another level: they just ride them

Squirrels don't have a massive top speed by RC car standards, but they accelerate very quickly and can also change direction in the blink of an eye. If I was racing one on tarmac, I would go for a pan car or F1. Off-road? Probably a lightweight buggy with the most aggressive tyres I could find.

I told my 7yr old the other day about how the grey squirrels aren't native to the UK and had been putting our little red squirrels 'out of business' so to speak.

...he now hates grey squrriels and is badword bent on their destruction!🤦🏻😂

(America is the source of the greys I believe)

If grey, one of these BB firing tanks..

Shoehorn in a PCP airgun parts. This being not an airgun should# not be restricted and the 12ft/lb law should not apply. Bore out the valve to give more power. Load with steel bearings and fire away!
