Looks like Yokomo are bringing back another version of the YZ-834B as their next re-release....the Wonder DogFighter. This photo was seen at the Hobby Show...

Think the main difference to the standard 834B is twin rear shocks replacing the mono shock, thicker chassis and a different body.

I thought the Works 94 would be next from them but this one isn't unwelcome either.

If they get up to actually providing spare parts ... which the 834b never had. Not even spare tyres. Nada. Zilch.

If it will be same thing this time around, it'll just end up on as another "collectors' item". I have the impression that the 870c has sold well, because it's a well-made and slightly updated version, but also the fact that it is supported with Yokomo spare parts, and some 3rd party supplier doing their stuff too, which probably makes into a viable vintage racer.

I'll believe it when I see it. And I was excited when I saw the 834b, thinking it would get spares and a bit of support. They really bodged that one up.

I ordered a bunch of 834b spares from RC Mart here in the states.  Amain sold the kits but never parts.  Now that we have the liberation day tariffs and end of de minimus, I’m not sure that order would be worth it any longer.  So you may be stuck buying a second kit if you want a good bit of extra spares.

@tamiya3speed - good to know that there was spares in circulation - in Europe there is nothing as far as I know - only the 834b kits (299 euros at the moment on Tamico).

I’ve got two of these coming because I think that the YZ-10 is probably the most suitable classic design for regular driving in mod class. It was a great car back in the day and went like mad. That body sure is super cool looking as well. I’m thinking of doing a Masami treatment on of my World’s YZ-10s, and then a black and gold ornamental complement on the second build.

There are a LOT of option parts coming out especially from Yeah Racing. I got their usual full Al conversion for one of the two, and also managed to find some vintage carbon parts. I’m not sure how gonzo I’ll go considering it’s an expensive car to keep running, but extra belts, extra tires and wheels already here, and eight spare suspension arms as I recall breaking mine a lot.

Maybe I am reading you wrong @Anthroxoid ... but the Teams' YZ-10 is quite different from the 834b and its siblings? More a development of the 870c line?

(it gets a bit confusing to trace the history - just so that I understand your line of thinking)

Ah no, I never went by their dog fighter names or Yokomo release numbers, so I am referring to the '91 World's ReRe of the Dogfighter as shown in the photo at the top of the page. Hah, you guys are talking about the very first model that they made if I'm not mistaken. Guys used to make their own suspension for them as it was basically a plate of fiberglass with some car parts here and there, sorely lacking rear shocks. Pardon me! Nothing to see here, just talking to the wall in my shop!

Following up--pardon my confusing verbiage. Yes, you are correct and I hadn't noticed the original Yokomo on the left side of the photo there. I need to get a conversion chart established in my mind as to which chassis was the official Yok part before they renamed everything for us Yanks. Oddly, that photo shows not two, or three, but four of the '91 World's ReRes in it if you look closely, heh. Maybe there will be a couple of us interested in the latter for a dedicated thread?

@Anthroxoid - all fine! - this era of buggies was well before my time, so I have just been trying to figure what is what, sort of. Perhaps there was somebody actually running Yokomos back in the early 80's when I read the local hobby magazine cover to cover, but I can only remember seeing Kyoshos in there.
