I recently found myself roped in to help set up a French Day at a local Gallery. My Mother in Law is very persuasive like that, & not one to be argued with either. She may look a frail old lady in her late 80’s but images of her wielding Ozzies & Shot guns in her heyday while farming in Rhodesia are enough to gladly offer a hand when requested with an enthusiastic smile. The workers on the farm held her in high regard as they thought she had some sort of super power because of her artistic talent. The Legend was cemented on one occasion when an alarmed employee short of breath banging on the door pointing into the Maize fields near house shrieking ‘Nyoka! Nyoka!’ (Snake! Snake!) So a gun was grabbed, fired into roughly the area of danger and not one, but two Black Mumba’s fell to the ground. A group of workers had gathered by then and stood in amazement with eyes like saucers at what had just happened with one shot. Different times.

So after fixing a 10 foot high core flute image of the Eiffel Tower to the side of a shipping container, hanging French flags, and positioning other such items. It dawned on me that I could offer a 1/10 Citroen to the ambiance.

With the M05 extended out to long again from medium wheelbase setting from the JCW Mini the 2CV was ready..

The offer to add the 2CV to the exhibition was gratefully accepted. It was a nice feeling to have my TC comp win 2CV from way back on public display that was bestowed on me by the fantastic community on this forum surrounded by works of art, croissant’s and other delicious patisseries. I sadly couldn’t attend the day due to my shift pattern but I’m told it drew a lot of admiring comments 😄

I’m hoping maybe an Italian day will transpire one day, as I have a couple Alfa Giulia’s they could borrow for that.

Thanks for looking.

What a great occasion to get out and display one of your gorgeous models. It looks right at home amongst the other French themed artworks, and it definitely stands out!! By far the best looking item in the photos  😁

Looking forward to the Italian day with the Giulias!

That has to be one of my top favorites here. You did a fantastic job on a car I would normally not be fond of. Excellent!
