Guys,

I think this venue will limit the experience somewhat. The astroturf track effectively limits use to 1/10 electric off road cars, this is a wide category but excludes all nitros off road and on road, all electric on road and 1/14 hauler trucks. I know we can run nitros in the field next door but won`t that be dull next to running on a track.??

Personally I would prefer a road track where we can run everything we want, making the experience as varied as possible or a venue like snett which had both.

I will attend wherever we meet just hope we are not limiting our opportunities..

Hey Jack, I see where you are coming from but even though at Snetterton we can run all cars, the off road cars(unless large) have to run onroad as the off road track is so poor, as you can appreciate off road cars just not as much fun on road. Now last few years we have had a summer/autumn meet at Clumber park which limits us to off road and the attendance is great as is the fun.

I personally think that it will be great to have a meet at Kidderminster running the old buggies on such a cracking course, we can also run wild willy's, celica 959's etc. I personally think it will be like the Clumber meets but essentially better with having a planned course.

I agree with you Rich. Clumber was a great meet although we had no set track which limited the events, and if you look at the vintage list, the majority of pre 100 cars were off roaders (ignoring the first few, that didnt even have suspension), as this was the "in" thing at the time. I think this track would be great to have a second meet, and as we have had on road, i think we are due a good off road event. There is still time for more later in the year too!!

Hi Guys,

Just reminding you nothing is concrete about this place yet, after the initial contact I've still not heard anything - will chase it up again tomorrow. Don't go booking you hotels yet[;)]

As for the track its difficult near on impossible to find a track which will suit everyones requirements, on road, off road, location, dates etc etc etc. If this turns out not to be the place then its nothing for anyone to worry or get worked up over there will always be another event.

What we have to do is try places out. If its great we go back if its not then we look else where for the next one. This place certainly looks like a step up or six from clumber park - I particularly like the way its fenced in and private and a proper off road track is something we have never yet had at a Tamiyaclub event. And this one loks mighty fine. If we choose to have it here (assuming they'll have us) and any members who are pure 'onroaders' decide its not for them, thats fair enough - we'll see them at the next on road event [:)]

Another possibility in near future may be the Southport track, they have one of best off road tracks in the country and are in process of sorting an on road track along side it.. Only down point is that there is no IC cars allowed due to local housing and a Caravan site, would also have to see bout camping with local council.

very tru, personaly i would "go" for a onroad track for the rigs,

but, like u said netsmith, inposible to please everyone.

on the other hand, a good exuse to fix up some decent offroaders in time. ow... ****, don't (bearly) have any vintage offroaders [:I]

Looking at the track I'd say you could easily run most of the tamiya tourers with the minimum of work. Longer shocks or even longer balljoints will get you enough ground clearance and rally tyres will get plenty of grip. Then of course there are all the 1/10th rally cars tamiya have done, should make for a good race if other people are up for it.

If the meeting at Kidderminster happens, I will run my Peugeot 306WRC and Coralla WRC but not the minis or the ferrari! Have monster trucks anyway[:D]
