I don't own one, so all I can say is that it looks cool.

I am building one now.........so far I would say this is definitely a step up from typical Tamiya buggies but not a cookie cutter modern buggy like my TLRs or Schumacher (although he L1R isn't cookie cutter with a belt).  The gearbox on the BBX is "real" in the sense that at least it isn't the DT-02/03/04 box which is great for what it is, but it is dated and limited.  

There also appears to be decent aftermarket support from more than just Yeah Racing (which is fine but.....) which is more than we can say for a lot of other Tamiya buggies.

I plan on campaigning mine in the Torque Tuned class at our track where I am currently racing a DT-04.........

The BBX is nice, it isn't really expensive and honestly it is fine out of the box and you can upgrade as you need to.

I don’t yet own one but from following the many threads on here and watching some reviews I can safely say it is top of my Tamiya must-buy list.

I love mine too.  Every time I drive it, I’m surprised by how “smooth” it feels. The drivetrain is silent, the suspension glides over rough terrain with ease.  
 

It also has that distinctive Tamiya vintage look that no other RC company has ever done as well. 
 

If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate.

The BBX is a great package: a fun build, awesome looks, it is durable and drives very well. I would definitely recommend it.
