WR-01 / WT-01 Hints and tips.

I've been on the hunt for either a WR-01 or WT-01 for my next project.

I stupidly regret selling mine many years ago after not really giving it a fair chance. I paid a solid price for it - less £100 from a fellow TC Member.

But now looking to replace it the prices are crazy. I've been in the game long enough to understand a price hike on most Tamiya items due to age and what not.

Unfortunately due to being made redundant a short while ago, I can not afford to splash the cash that these seem to be going for.

I am highly tempted to do a bitsabuild and get one made up over the next few months with the additional bits and pieces I want to add to what I've got planned.

 

I think my expectation to be able to pick one up for £50/£75 was a silly dream lol.

With patience I eventually found and won an auction for an incomplete WT-01 with condition issues for around $70usd. I've been trying to keep spending low enough to get it at where I want it, plus doing some testing and tuning. The reasonable deals are still out there sometimes, but unfortunately the easy to find ones have insane asking prices from greedy sellers.

Doesn't help that I'm tight on funds due to having no job at th moment  🙃

So luck was on my side and I manged to score a used one off eBay for a steal of a price. I did not expect to win the auction, but I was the only bidder so woop. Go me 😀

Pictures and rebuild thread to follow.... anything to avoid painting my Skyline body. Lol
