Another topic on the forum got me thinking about this the other day. What is your favourite looking RC? Ignoring functionality and performance, based purely on its looks which do you think is the coolest or most accurate or impressive or just makes you go WOW! And if you have a picture to hand of one you have built that you could show us then all the better :)

I have always loved the look of the Wild Willy. Its so different with lots of nice details. And slightly differently I love all the detail in the Centurion tank. Both have the real cool factor for me. (I have both of these in my small and very slow moving build queue, maybe I'll get to them when I retire)

Ooh, that's a hard question!

The first one that comes to mind is the Kyosho Optima (without any turbo, pro or whatnots). I love those rims and tyres and the low slung style. One day, one day ... maybe.

Tamiya: Och, I am a Wild Willy fan. It's not practical or anything, it just makes me smile.

Tamiya On-road: Mini Cooper. Can the gnomes and elves over at Tamiya hurry up, please?

Yokomo? The 870c for its oddball body shape and but mostly the design idea - the simplicity - less but better. Here is just one (amazing) example:

Ask me another day, and it might be a different answer. And if I have to choose only one, then it's the Optima. :)

For me there is no better looking vehicle than a Subaru Brat. I am not sure why I don't have one but it was always my dream car when I was a kid.

There is no possible way I could agree more.

It's a bit hard for me to pick.

For monster trucks, maybe the King Blackfoot. Then my Bigfoot 4 clod in 2nd.

For buggies? The Sand Scorcher takes 1st and the Kyosho Scorpion is maybe a second.

For everything else, it's just too much to choose from for me.

I'm not sure I can pick one favorite. But I definitely have a thing for roll cages, so the Wild One/FAV, Hotshot, Kyosho Javelin, Icarus, Scorpion, the original Ultima, Marui Galaxy, and the like are among my favorites.

I also love the original Mugen Bulldog, AYK Viper, and Hirobo Zerda, but those never come up for sale, and when they do, they're a small fortune.

I really like the Top Force body, but not the box art colours tho! Red or pink is what i would personally choose.

Ah great to hear @Josie😎

I've only built the one Kyosho so far myself, the Optima-Mid, although it was the rather special 60th World's edition🙂 I have the Turbo Optima in the box, and in fact I just happened to cut out the body shell today - won't actually be building it for a while, but planning to paint a few bodies whilst the weather is good.

If you're going to run the Turbo, check out the custom undertray that Revive RC make for it - don't want to be scratching up that beautiful gold chassis cover on the underside! And I think another brand also makes one, Penguin or Kamtec maybe🤷

Perhaps consider doing a bit of a build thread in the Kyosho or Builds section of the forum, if you like the idea of documenting your builds👍

A positively impossible question for me to answer as so many in the first 100 are beautiful in their own unique way. If I was pressed, I guess I'd have to go with the one that grabbed my attention first, the Monster Beetle.

Your post made it a little easier for me to pick, I've always liked a realistic-looking RC monster truck, preferably with a top heavy setup and slower brushed speeds. It's fun watching giant chevron tires spin and stomp on obstacles.

Dang, this is like asking a Mother to pick her favourite child.

So many great offerings out there but I think it’s hard to go past Kyosho’s Nostalgic Series.

I’ve never had any of them and it’s close between Ford GT40, Ferrari etc but I probably couldn’t stop staring at the Shelby Cobra if one found its way to my collection, such as this fine example by fellow member @scollins

Tyco Turbo Bandit. They got the proportions so right with this one. It was the stepping stone RC car to hobby grade RC and Tamiya for me. After this came a Wild Willy 2, M04L S2000, Clodbuster then CC01. Thankfully 3d printing has allowed me to keep Bandit alive and running til today.

Turbo Optima

Avante

Egress

Willys Wheeler (Honda City Turbo)

King Cab

In no particular order. They're just the ones that come straight to the forefront of my mind...I don't own any of them lol
