Hotshot for me, nothing even comes close. Not only my favourite RC, but I think this might be the best box artwork Tamiya ever did as well.

Is the correct answer! 🤣🤣👍👍 (my favourite too 😁)

Its good seeing so many different choices. I was surprised that some people had very clear favourites but they didnt have them in their collections.

I noted several people really liking the aesthetics of the Avante. It seems to be a bit of a marmite car. People either really love the aesthetic or are rather less keen. But if we all liked the same thing the hobby would be rather boring wouldn't it.

How often have people bought a car based purely off that "Ooh that looks awesome" vibe and not worried about the technical spec?

I can't say I have ever done that, but I have done the opposite. Both my GF-01 and G6-01 were purchased purely on technical spec even though I did not like the looks of the bodies that they came with.

I would imagine a lot of people have done this (I certainly have) given how many different bodies are out there that can be put on the cars. I too bought and built my GF-01 based purely on its spec and then got a 3rd party body.

Something else I have done is started with an aesthetic that I like (the Wild Willy), decided I didnt want to use the chassis spec and am slowly working on a project to build some other chassis just to give the Wild Willy body a home :)

There's so many but I guess going back to my first indoctrination into Tamiya, I might go with the Wild Willy as well.

Because 1.  a kid in my neighborhood had the original WW.    2. it was one of the first kits I saw and was in awe of when I got the radio control book.   I still have it 35 years later.   That was a book I looked at endlessly.

It had the original Willy in it, the Honda City or whatever it was called, the Hot Shot, the Hornet, Grasshopper, the onroad chassis, like the Porsches and VW Golf.

I was in awe of how Tamiya photographed 2 kits next to each other one without the body and one with.   How neatly everything was arranged in the chassis for the photos.

Really takes me back to my childhood for sure.

obviously the Boomerang is the best looking RC ever

The next 2 questions are then do you have one in your collection and could we see a piccy :)

Can't really pic just one.  They all develope into something unique.  This on is an old Traxxas Stampede on an lcg slash chassis.

This one started as a Traxxas Slash and evolved backwards.

Lunch box was what made me fall in love with Tamiya, that and the Monster Beetle- they simply look awesome.

The Lunchbox was definitely a big one in the late 80s.   It was so different from many of the other kits, it was a monster VAN.

Then I remember people raving over the Pumpkin.

I own my grail, the VW Golf Group 2, so nothing else is really "needed."  But I plan on building some more stuff like the Blackfoot and a Lunchbox.

I also really love going away from box art.

I have a rere that is, uhh, well loved and 2 more in boxes to be built. I've found that it is also a bulletproof backyard runner hence having 2 more so we can run 3 cars at a time.

They'll probably still be in boxes in 2 years time though at the rate i'm building cars!

I know the feeling. Fitting it in with all the other stuff I need to do means I seem to be building about 1 car a year. I've finished the build of my second chassis. Trying to find a little time to paint the body shell, a TT02.

I think I'm going to build something this week - my wife is taking our son away (school holidays) so I'll be flying solo. However, the Avante BS, RC10 Team Car or Super Astute are more likely to get built thank another Boomerang...

Those all look great but that last one looks like you have taken the paint job to the next level, absolutely amazing job!
