Hi and welcome Hondabiker. If you run out of spares to keep your runner running, I'm sure that there will be enough of us with bits to help you out [:D]. I should think that Chris will be posting details of the pricing and tickets soon.. only a few weeks to go now [^]

PS - I will have a "4 man" tent (sleeps 3 comfortably) for sale if anyone's interested, I can bring it with me to Kidderminster. It'll be going in my trades soon, but if you're interested contact me and I'll give you more details.

I'm a newcomer too and planning to come along but i do have a number of questions that i am asking here in-case they are relevant to others who have not been to one of these events before.

1. How do i get tickets and how much will they be?

2. Can non-TC members come along as guests and again how much does it cost for them to enter? Can they drive?

3. Is it ok to come along for 1 day only and if so which day is best?

4. Do you have to get advance tickets or is it possible to buy them on the gate?

4. What is the format for racing around? Presumably a peg system for available crystals?

5. I only have 1 runner (Fox), any ideas how i'm going to change the crystals quickly on this car?

Ok number 5 is not so relevant to everyone but does raise another question about how long each person gets on the track? Really sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere. Looking forward to meeting everyone at Kidderminster.

I dont DO camping (how very uncilvilised) and i cant afford a hotel, and i have no cars built (Tipsy's getting the Ray and the WW2 is still NIB) and the *** at Tesco wont give me any time off... and i need the money so i cant bunk off sick... god!! so have a nice time, MIGHT see ya all at Snett next year, I might have a car or two by then.. (long story) IS there any events on the IOM?? [xx(]

Heres a few answers:

1. Ticket price: £4.00, in advance - this gets you in for 2 days. If you only come one day its still £4.00. If you buy tickets on the day then its £5.00. Every man woman and child will need a ticket, racing or not.

2. Payment covers entrance into the event, the ability to meet others, see great old cars, watch the racing and buy and sell stuff. It does NOT guarentee racing time. Racing will be going on all the time dawn to into the night with different classes normally starting every half an hour or so. Events will be listed in advance and slots in the race and crystals will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

3. Where do you get tickets from? Here, a page with details will be posted very soon

4. Rules for racing. This is about having fun, the closest part of it to any professional meet you may have been to is that all the cars in the race start are roughly the same time (sometimes). Generally the races last until the battery packs run out. There are now prizes or positions. Racers are off all levels, from Europcup winner down to,... er me. We do ask that every takes care not to damage others models particularly as lots of them are expensive and hard to find parts for.

5. Best day normally depends on the weather but so far sunday afternoon has always been may favourite bit, although you'll have missed all the bargains by that point.

6. All frequenncies will be controlled by a peg board. The more chrystals you bring the more chance you will be able to race.

Bottom line is its a fun event ran by amateurs with all sorts of people taking part. If you want to run you new built model and want to come away with it still looking new built it is not the event for you. If you want something which is a slick professional race system, with indidivual times and strict rules for whats is allowed to run against what then again, you probably are not going to like it. If you are someone that is up for a laugh, can take part sensibly, and finds the idea of electric ferraris and nitro terra crushers running in the same race fun, or the disorganised chaos of a Wild Willy race is your idea of a good time, then you will have a blast.

Me and my 2 lads paid up for now, can't wait [:D]. This time I'm going to try and sort my cars out earlier, I did too many 3am nights before Snet getting cars ready [|)]

Me and my missus are all paid up, gonna be a tight squeeze in the car as I will need to sell lots of stuff to fund the jaunt to Holland a few days later so everyone take lots of money and stop by at my car first[;)]

If worst comes to the worst and I will be selling my Mounty bodied Bruiser RTR and my NIB Willy's Wheeler[:0]

Hello again, been a while since i've been here! Been a bit busy since Snetterton, getting the house ready for a new arrival, due on the 17th, and settling in with my new job.

I've tried to keep up with whats going on, but without wanting to trawl through 5 months of posts, whereabouts in Kidderminster is the summer drive, is it easy to get to off the motorway?

I'll probably only be coming down on the sunday, to show my face and blow some dust off the toys, may even bring some bits to sell.

Wow - welcome back.

Good you might be able to make it to Kidderminster. I'm in the process of sorting out maps etc at the mo.

Will email you the details when I get them finished

Cheers

Guys,

A newbie I'm afraid... what are the chances of me being able to just turn up to watch. Will I be able to pay on the day? Would hate to miss this as I live just outside Kiddy...

Don't be afraid to be a newbie [;)] I haven't admitted yet that this will be the first time running my cars on a proper track [:I]

Most of the details you need are here:

Basically it'll cost you £6 on the day racing or not, so if you've got a suitable off-roader to bring there's nowt to lose!
